Buttigieg reaching out to the crowd that slightly tipped for Trump but didnt really want him is a smart move. And it CLEARLY payed off because it made Trump pressed on twitter when he was bitching about Buttigieg a few hours later. Ha! I don't understand why more people don't see it this way. First of all, if people want to "unite this country", then completely ignoring and disregarding the Fox audience doesn't help. If anything, it only creates more divisions. Also, in order to win an election, what's important is to get people who are "on-the-fence". People who are either strongly Democrat or strongly Republican will vote for their respective parties no matter what. By going on various news outlets to spread your message/policies (whether those outlets are conservative or liberal) will help your overall goal of getting to people who might vote either way.
