And let's say the Eurovision will be one day in Russia, would you be ok if the EBU would forbid the LGBTQ+ flag at the contest?

I mean I don’t think it was bad. Just shows her support for a two-State solutions which many people of both sides refuse.

Yup. Madonna has always showed love for Israel. It's not like Iceland, which was kind of 'look at us being edgy'.

It's still a bit weird for an American artist to fly in and make a political statement on Eurovision against the host country though :rip:

:ally: Are you telling me you really believe she did that for that reason ?

the flag thing...she did that before

Shes really spreading a bigger message. She doesnt need to be the topic of the next newspaper

We're talking about Madonna. A girl who in order to preach the power of music made an entire arena sing HER lyrics. A girl with an ego bigger than the israelo-palestinian conflict. Ofc it was calculated to promote herself

No. Do you think anything politically happened in Baku when the ESC was there? No.

But those were the performers choices.

In this case, Madonna choose to use her platform to promote peace. Nothing wrong with that.

Azerbaijan was very strict on political symbols as well, but ultimately allowed them for Eurovision, at least inside the arena.

That's one of the reasons why we actually never really saw the audience in 2012, they were really dim and there was no real focussed shot of the audience.

So tell me this... Gaga spoke against the anti-LGBT agenda in Russia, while giving a concert.

Should she have held a TV debate with Putin instead? :ladyhaha: It would be a much better place to discuss this than in a music concert.

It's HER concert HER rules. She wasn't invited on the stage of someone else and make a move behind their back

Ok... It's transparent were you are coming from now. WTH is the problem of having people sing 'Music makes the people come together'? It's a message of peace.

I missed this one I think so I didn't know that.

imo politics as long as it's mild and no harming anyone, it's fine.

Even Iceland, it was a surprise yeah, a bit disrespectful, but they didn't call to boycott Israel and if Madonna can do it, they can do it too.

I am a fan of Madonna :laughga: But she has to be called out when she does something wrong.

I would have called out Gaga the same way if she had done a political move during Eurovision

I don't see anything wrong with it and don't think she did anything remotely wrong, but ok. It's your opinion, and I respect it.

how come you don't know the situation of israel-palestine:air:

I’m an American that doesn’t watch the news. Plus, it probably wouldn’t get lots of news coverage since we Americans are really only concerned about ourselves :huntyga: Please tell me what’s going on
