OMonster 14,667
I'm so tired of billionaire celebrities endorsing (or worse, releasing) skincare products, whilst capitalising on their own 'flawlessness'. Are we expected to believe that Kylie uses the routine that she sells? Of course she doesn't. But the message she is sending, through the image she constructs, is that "you too can be like me!" - buy my products. Spoiler I know Gaga is releasing some kind of beauty / skincare line - but, inherently, that is very different. As a side project, there is no illusion that *this* is what Gaga does. It's more a passion project, which brings a degree of authenticity with it. subtext / fantasy
SHALLOW 16,224
The only thing that makes it so pricey is her name on it There's just no way i'd pay that much when i can find all of these products for WAAAAAAAY less That's why i want Gaga to launch Haus Beauty only if she's going to have competitive prices. When have we seen Gaga talking about how passionate she is about skincare? It's the same thing as Kylie. Celebs come out with beauty products bcs it's trendy and makes a lot of money let's be real

Celebs come out with beauty products bcs it's trendy and makes a lot of money let's be real I disagree. I don't think it's the same at all. Gaga is a musician and an artist. She is a very credible person, and we know that she will not back anything she A) isn't interested in, or B) something solely for the money. When someone is worth $300M+ in areas away from makeup / skincare, it's clear that when that person ventures into a new area, they are doing it for an authentic reason. It clearly isn't for money, because they don't need it. Gaga doesn't need it. Whereas with Kylie (and others like her), these celebrities rely solely on their expanding beauty empires. What they put out is there because it *has* to be there. Sure, they have enough money to never need to sell anything again... but then their brand dies. With Gaga, if she didn't sell a single beauty product... it means nothing. I don't intend to drag Kylie. There's a market for her, and she's capitalising on it. It's human nature. I just find it incredibly superficial and toxic how these people sell their image. subtext / fantasy

davflz 3,293
I don't get why anyone buys her stuff it all seems to inauthentic, calculated and formulaic. Like you can tell she doesn't give a **** about these products, she's pumping out new collections every 2 weeks At least with similar brands like Jeffree Star, Pat Mcgrath, Fenty etc. it feel like they have an actual idea and care about their products. With her it's just so soulless and I don't get why anyone would spend money on her (incredibly basic) ****.
