Is this Basically the French "Vogue"?

So I have been getting into Mylène Farmer lately and was very much enjoying her 1991 album L'autre and then this song came on and I felt like it sounded similar to Madonna's "Vogue" (this is no shade to Mylène I think it's fabulous). What do you guys think? am I just hearing things or does this have a very "Vogue" sound especially in the melody?

And by the way, I totally recommend this album. Felt really atmospheric and ethereal while also upbeat and full of bops

The spoken part does reminds me of Vogue. But i don’t think it’s THAT similar.

Does it matter? Damage is done

Definitely not copycat similar. Just has a similar vibe/sound/melody. Still unique in its own way tho!

In that case, yes. But Vogue is still superior and I feel like this song lacks the ‘it’ factor Vogue had.

I found her from people talking about her on here, and I was shocked too when I saw how big she is in France! Definitely give it a try, she has a really beautiful sound and voice.

By the way, your profile pic and user name is everything

Nobody can do Vogue like Madonna, and nobody can do "It" factor like Madonna. That is for sure. One of the greatest pop songs of all time

I'm french and here people call her "the french queen of pop" since her career is GIGANTIC. Seriously I ask myself if many countries have music stars with a similar path cause she basically never had even a semi-flop in  35 years of career and after all this time, each of her comeback is  still a major event...

To be honest I only see the spoken parts as similar and in the early 90s many pop singers around the world were including  rapped parts or hybrid/ rap-like/ "spoken to the beat" parts  in their pop songs so I think it was more a trend at the time that both madonna and mylène followed. :)

Speaking of French Bops...I can't stop playing this. It's been no 1 for ages. I love the guy in the blue in the courtroom:

That's awesome to hear she has remained so successful and current with each album. I love hearing things like this. And yeah I can kinda see that, it does have a similar vibe as Vogue to me though, just less punchy and sassy. Both great tracks though.

I love the French language. It is very unique and so different than English.

I've been getting into French music recently. I never knew they had big pop stars/artists, it's not something I've ever really thought about. Christine and the Queens is another one to check out for anyone interested and she has English versions of her songs.
