Can we talk about Aly & AJ for a second?

michaelbaumgardner

My boyfriend and I are going to see these pop icons at the end of this month, and I haven’t really seen much hype about them on here! Who else lives for their music!? They’re so underrated...

I mean, let’s not forget these Disney Channel classics:

and when they served us major Lana Del Rey teas with their 78Violet project in 2013:

Their new music, however, is pure synth-pop perfection.

... but, not only is Aly & AJ’s discography so diverse and filled with quality, what makes me live for them the most is how AMAZING they sound live:

This performance of “Potential Breakup Song” absolutely shook me:

I’m just so happy to see the sisters that I used to go awf to as a lil kid are still out there killing it. They didn’t sell out, breakup, or do anything problematic (as far as I know).

i LOVE their new music. their poprockish past isn't really my thing but their synthpop stuff is so good! can't wait to hear the rest of Sanctuary and hopefully a whole album will follow up soon!

Hey, I never thought about these girls since middle school when the Cool Girls who got Deluxe Cable Packages with the Disney Channel all stanned them. But I am glad to read your post and see that Aly and AJ have evolved and keep making music! Looks like they've developed their own identity outside being Tween Disney Stars.

How can I protect something so perfect without evil?

Did Aly get work done? She looks unrecognizable imo.

I vividly remember when Rush came out and watching the music video on the Disney channel commercial breaks. It was a bop and my little pre-twink self was living :diane:

They’ve always killed it.

But I love this synth pop dreamy music they’re making even more than anything they’ve done before.

Their latest songs “Church” and “Don’t Go Changing” have been ethereal.

Definitely recommend listening to them
