Funny you say you don't care and you're telling me to grow up. Yet you took it upon yourself to spread the toxicity of the situation/image on this site. If you genuinely wanna talk about growth and wanna act like an adult then start considering that other self-conscious  users log onto this site. How do you think it'll make them feel seeing that image. Many of you take it upon yourselves to declare what should be seen as offensive and what should be seen as a joke. Not everyone is the same. We should consider everyone’s sensitivities especially when it comes to a psychologically traumatic thing like body image.

TSUNAMI

Body shaming is so stupid. Almost destroyed my life.

We all come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Why can't people just accept the fact?

@StrawberryBlond Why is it okay to say things in private, but not in public... closeted sexism and bigotry is worst don’t you think

Well, of course there's still problems with behind the scenes bigotry but as much as I hate these phrase, "what they don't know won't hurt them" is pretty much true. I'd argue that it's worse to know what people think if it's negative. If anyone thought anything negative about my body, I'd really rather they just kept that to themselves or behind closed doors, otherwise it might give me a complex that I never had before. We can't police thoughts so if bad ones are going to occur, better they're not heard to hurt the person they're aimed at.

Well I may not know what you look like or much about you, but I think you have a beautiful heart! I may not agree with you, but I will admit that its nice to see that you’re adamant about your stance. I feel like the “long back” was a funny nice way to say a joke. Sometimes humor and light hearted jokes are ways to get the people who are present for joke more entertain than they are to hurt the person joke is about. If we had that policy of not saying something to hurt anybody, then life would be boring. There have been many of times people call Kanye or Britney crazy... I would rather have someone make fun of my physical appearance than a mental illness #Dowhatuwantwithmybody #butyoucanthavemyheartormind

Thanks, I didn't expect that compliment! And it's nice to see someone who appreciates how I don't back down from what I believe. I see what you mean about light hearted jokes that aren't meant to be in bad faith, it's just that it can be hard to judge what the reaction might be and how serious other people are going to think you meant it to be. I just think men laughing at women's bodies is such a dated concept now, it really doesn't belong in our more socially conscious time where we're supposed to be body positive. When you're a woman, you have to deal with people judging you on your looks first and foremost and sometimes, even judging all of you based on looks. Even the most successful women are still referred to by their looks before all else. If I had to describe a singer without saying their name, my first thought would be to name their biggest hits. But of course, in this very sexist world, men immediately describe a woman's appearance before their output to the world. The fact the other guy knew immediately who he was referring to shows they've joked about this between themselves before, this is probably how they talk about all women behind their backs. That's what left a really unsavoury taste in the mouth.
