The Federal Government has warned the new Pro-Oil Sands Government in Alberta not to lift the 100 Million Tone emissions cap set by the previous Government or else new projects will have to go through the new tougher environmental assessment laws

 

Under the emissions cap, once the emissions limit is reached no new Oil Sands projects can be approved until emissions fall back below 100 Million CO2 tones
