The difference between this and Det.Pokemon is they kept original designs and made them "realistic", It's still as kawaii as ever, but with realism added like how reptilians pokemons skin would look like, and fur on mammals pokemon, etc, while this Sonic movie, they changed the design and made that look realistic so it turns out weird and cringey. Also One Piece ( as avid fan, I am so anxious tbh), and Cowboy Bebop, and EVA They're also making another live-action Avatar.. Though it was made by the original people. While I wanna be supportive of live action anime adaptations, I just can't. I watch anime for a reason. Live action almost never gets it right. It's that kind of vibe Also, the hints for the story about Sonic came to save the world really reminds me with bad video games movie from the 90s, as someone who came from that era, I really am not proud of that tbh @Seeka oh yes, they promised to cast racial accurate actors for it, so no white washing. So I hope that's true. And they better not ruin the cabbage man guy too Oh yes, Hollywood are going to do Akira too. I am so not ready for the locals to say that it looks too much like Blade Runner cos they can't bother to do some research that it was one of the mangaka inspiration. Plus the "government trying to capture it" thing is the most basic, unoriginal and overdone plot they could've come up with. Detective Pikachu kind of works because it's based on the Detective Pikachu game, this on the other hand is a lot more like the live action Smurfs films.
