Coven - though the plot composed primarily of them killing and reviving each other instead of unifying in their common cause, this is season that has aged the best, I would say. The cinematography was breathtaking and the Stevie Nicks cameo was unexpected but greatly welcomed. 2. Asylum - in my opinion, the best season plot-wise. It really put AHS on the map post-Murder House and established the changing dynamics of each season. 3. Freakshow - there's no denying the season dragged as it drew on, which I blame partially due to in not being done filming as it began airing and Ryan Murphy running out of impactful ideas, but the first few episodes were golden. After Asylum's Bloody Face, Twisty the Clown brought TRUE horror to the show and Elsa Mars' leg reveal is still one of the most iconic scenes in television history. 4. Apocalypse - terrible ending. 5. Roanoke 6. Murder House - impartial to at this point. 7. Hotel - great cinematography but no plot at all outside of Countess' lack of concern and greed. Liz Taylor was a plus though, and the last 2 episodes made up for the boring season overall. Gaga by no means showed off her acting chops very well this season. 8. Cult - worst ever.
