Matangi 3,050
below is my opinion, read w caution lmao: superhero movies are trash. they have literally no subtlety. less is more many times, esp with computer graphics, with characters, with run time, with converging plots, with action sequences. they are literally the film definition of EXTRA

Wich include different super hero movies (wich are linked but those are their separate story’s) Also, it stays a mystery to you cause you didn’t watch them (If I understand your comment correctly) SwissMonster®️ - Creating controversy since 1999

If I haven't seen the other 10 is because I grew tired of it and super-hero movies have stopped being the events they used to be. My point. And it doesn't encourage people to go see original material. But everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that's great. Well which 12. " super-hero movies have stopped being the events they used to be. my point." Endgame just made $350 Million at the opening weekend box office... At the end of the day, you can snub mainstream films, but I welcome you to go see original films whether it's in theaters, Netflix, etc. Otherwise, there shouldn't be much to say if you don't. mindintransit 465
If you aren't (or even if you are) an MCU fan you missed your chance. Alamo Drafthouse NYC held a marathon of all 22 movies before Avengers Endgame opened. Well I do, I wouldn't be talking that talk if I didn't. And I'm not snubbing anything for the sake of snubbing, there are just movies that I have 0 interest in seeing because I'm just fed up It's in that sense that I'm saying it stopped becoming events - to me an event is something rare that will mark the times and that people will remember, not something that comes back every 2 months. Some MCU movies are still events, and those are the ones I'm still seeing (Avengers or Black Panther for instance), but who the **** remembers each and every one of those 22 films...? It's mass consumption. You consume one, and 2 months later it's already forgotten for the sake of the new one. We might remember a few of those films in say 50 years, but don't say we'll remember all 22, because that's just not true.

But I'm really not a huge Marvel fan, I suffered from super-hero fatigue as early as the beginning of Phase 2 of the MCU... Pretty much went to see it to stay in the pop cultural loop, but that's it. And yeah, you've pretty much summed it up, and as long as people will go see all this, the less original big studios are gonna be willing to get. I'm not afraid to say that TV has become superior in terms of content for quite some time now. I'm glad people are enjoying these movies, but imo they are the literal death of filmmaking. Imagine the actors in these franchises having to be stuck playing the same character for so long...makes it hard to branch out and be known for other things and show your true acting skills in more serious films I'm just shocked none of the major characters have had their actors die in the real world Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Maybe because all 22 films are very different from each other? Have you even watched them? Also, Hollywood produces tons of new material every year. Why do you think there's such a bloom in women making new series and film these days? New stuff is coming out literally every week and yet all the people who complain never go watch. I think it's down to that it's nothing like Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings etc.. where they are a franchise that revolves around the same character. Whilst a few of the Marvel characters have had a sequel it's a lot of different characters and different stories. You could say the same about Disney films (and look how many films they've done on their characters). I think its hard to make an original and fresh superhero film but now that they are branching out into being more inclusive like with Black Panther, Captain Marvel and now Shang-Chi (an Asian-American superhero) helps. This isn’t a new phenomenon; it’s only happening now because at the end of the day this industry is a business and people buy into properties that they are familiar with. It’s got a lot going into it, but as less people go to theaters, prices rise, thus making people want to go less so they become strategic about what they see and people will more readily invest in familiar IP like comic movies than they will new product. In a lot of ways, it really is in the hands of the audiences (because of capitalism).
