The Egyptian government ran an election to make the people vote yes or no to amend the constitution 

One of the items was to extend the presidental term from 4 to 6 years

The election happened

only 50% of people went and voted

80 % yes

and 20 % no

 

which is funny because they used the poor people to say yes so they give them rice , oil and money 

Egypt is a huge mess 

and el s*si is running for and extended period

we stan a president who built a new capital when his most of his people are starving and poor

I'm actually heading to your country in June (I know, summer timing, I'll die of heatstroke  ); do you think the situation will be politically stable then? It seems so because he technically got a majority of the vote for a 50% or higher turnout of voters, but there also seems to be a lot of people concerned or unhappy with it too, considering it makes the 2011 revolution seem kind of pointless in retrospect.

u can come if u want egypt is a great place to visit but just be aware as some people might use trickery to get from u money

 

and yes the 2011 revolution was pointless because we neither became rich nor had freedom of speech

Egypt is close to the equator tho so does it make much difference what time of year u go?

 

In equator the hottest time of the year is actually spring and fall

 

Tho Egypt is still on the north side of the hemisphere so summer would still be the hottest... But I mean it wouldn't make a huge difference I don't think. Probably just a few degrees

It's not that close to the equator - Cairo is about the same latitude as north central Florida (30 degrees N), which is 3200 km or 2000 miles away from it, and Abu Simbel, near the Sudanese border, is about the same latitude as central Cuba. So it's very hot, but there are regional variations in temperature akin to those in other places in the northern hemisphere. Wikipedia's climate data for Cairo shows winter-summer variations in average daily high temperature in Cairo at 18 degrees C / 32 degrees F, which is pretty significant.

Ah ok. I thought the variations would be lower than that... I also thought the distance to equator was less than that too

 

I didn't know how much it was but I would have guessed maybe 1000km to 1500km tops from equator

Wouldn't building this new city creates jobs that will give money to the poor to feed themselves?  Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish, he'll never go hungry.

Africa's big  1000km would only get you into South Sudan, the country above Uganda (which is on the equator). 1500km would get you into far southern Sudan.
