Seeka 12,372
This is basically a call out post. Almost. But also, I'm genuinely curious. Why do you think Gaga "owes" you? While I've started to avoid fandumbs, I think Monsters are the only people who act entitled as royalty. If you bought her music, you bought a product. You went to a performance, you had an experience. You spend time making cosplay or drawing art? Yeah you can show it to her. But even at the core of that, it's for you. You took time to watch her videos? You did that for you. You buy like 70,000 copies of ARTPOP. Did Gaga ask you to do that? No? You did that on your own? Gaga doesn't owe you anything. Like I don't get how people get this idea of "being owed" something. Despite what you guys think, we are not Patrons. We are customers. Gaga's patron is Interscope. Interscope tells her what she can and can't do. She signs their contract. They take their due. Unless one of you guys like... Commissioned Poker Face to be made, Gaga owes you nothing. Owing someone something is when you do them a favor. Or you have a mortgage. Or a loan. Basically, debt. If you don't make your fav anime/manga/movie/series/podcast/videogame/books/visual novels/paint drying owe you something, why should Gaga? Sorry, rant over. geusst1235 5,398
I agree, she really doesn't owe anything to us in my opinion. She's helped all of us through tough times and gave us some escapism from our own lives while advocating for many good things. Honestly I think the only thing that we could ever ask of her is for her to do her best,at whatever she wants to do. Some fans are definitely entitled and feel like they have some sort of ownership or control over what she does but uh.....y'all don't lmao. For example if LG6 isn't a particular genre or ticks certain boxes then some will undoubtedly complain. It is obviously fine to give constructive criticism and give an opinion on something you do not enjoy, but some fans (yes I'm talking to some of you here ) really need to learn how to formulate their thoughts without being incredibly selfish, ignorant, or rude to Gaga/her team and other fans. Everything does NOT revolve around you and your bitchiness. It's not funny, and it is not tasteful nor mature so stop and maybe think about what you're saying and the ripple effect it could have. I know some of you doing this are adults, actually act your age and gain some integrity.
fathermonster 1,438
As fans we got Gaga to we she is today, buying her music, buying tickets to see her shows etc. She wouldn't be where she is today. As for people getting the ump about her not being there is totally understandable. As for people getting angry with this whole LG6 mess, also understandable, it's been over a month now since Gaga changed her layouts around, and posted the LG6 tweet, what other popstars have you known to do that? Cause I'm hard pressed to think of any at all. LG6 hype for some fans is dying off and to be honest I do think it's getting really tiresome. It is not far off a year that Gaga posted the black and white imagery, with the distorted images, nothing ever came of that, and now Richie her choreographer is tweeting about Enigma Also, many other fan bases are getting new stuff so understandable that we want new Gaga music! Fingerella 3,170
Preach sis. I hate all of these annoying “fans” saying their opinions are just “criticisms” well bitch you don’t get to criticize her team if you didn’t do hair, make-up and styling for years or studied for ****! I have a bachelors degree in fine-arts and know for a fact that a lot of her concepts are being praised in my community. These ammateurs or wannabes with no background in art, music, make-up and fashionshould really know their place before attacking someone with credibility. I’m honestly sick and tired of all these rude-ass fans coming for her team and ruining their confidence as artists.
TheJoanneJoker 3,866
because people live with the false assumption that being a musician means you're exclusively making music. we tend to forget that everyone's human: from Obama to LADYf****ngGAGA
Joemayzin 4,021
Tbh I love her just like many many people (on here and off) and I’m always excited to see what she is going to drop/release next but personally as a fan of hers she doesn’t owe me **** and I’m proud to say that! She’s a human being just like yoü and I but The only thing Gaga “owes” is happiness and pride to herself, let people act they way they want to act when it comes to feeling “entitled” to anything she does because they’re thirsty for new music or anything lg6 related! I’ll admit I want it just as bad as the next monster and if people feel that way they are allowed to but it will come when Gaga/interscope feels it’s ready!!! Bling 31,312
I think unfortunately, Gaga realized too late that revealing too much, teasing, hyping, and making promises on projects that were yet to be complete ended up being her fans' largest frustration. I think she got really excited about her albums and projects and really wanted to share things with us. But when everything fell through, it was a devastating time for LMs. The disappointment and unfulfilled teased projects throughout her earlier career (TF-ARTPOP) only made her Joanne tour cancellations (due to her health) that much more upsetting (don't forget the 2nd Dive Bar Tour cancellation). All of these upsets paired with the fact that Gaga's peers and their delivery with radio presence (like Gaga used to), top-notch visuals and music videos, quantity of music, tour DVD/specials, and more continue to add on to the frustration. Especially when we know what she is capable of. Although Joanne and ASIB were phenomenal for her career, helped repair her image and garner many new fans, and won her an Oscar, #1 album yadayada, they both were routes we weren't expecting and many of us fell in love with Gaga because she was a tough bi*ch and made kick as* dance music. And to be honest we have been waiting since 2013 to dance again. This post doesn't lack empathy for Gaga's health and what she has been through, but I wanted to be direct and honest about where the "Where's #LG6?" movement, so to speak. I’d like to think we have a mutually beneficial relationship, but tbh I need her more than she needs me and I know it

I've seen plenty of those things outside of the Gaga fandom. I've also seen entire ideas fall because of turmoil. Please go look up Versus XIII. That alone tore the Final Fantasy fandom into pieces. From everything in your post, all I can gather is that more people in this fandom need lives outside of Gaga.

But I hate this assumption. I like dancing, but I purely like music on it's own. And I'll dance to anything. But you'll never see me dancing in front of people or in a club. I'm a fatty. I can't even get into a club. Like I liked Gaga for her music and her look. Whether or not one can dance to it shouldn't really be a thing. However, I plan on making 3/4 of my wedding music videogame/anime/visual novel soundtracks so maybe I shouldn't be talking.

She's an entertainer. We're the ones who should be thankful that she makes music that we love. You got what you payed for. You're saying that the baker owes us a second loaf of bread because we payed for the first one. That's not how the world works. Yes, Gaga should be thankful for her fans. And she is. But she doesn't owe anything. Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺

FATCAT 59,990
I don't think anyone actually thinks that Gaga "owes" them something, as much as they just aren't articulating the situation that's unfolding in their head. I think what they mean is that they spend day in and day out checking up on Gaga and what she does, and that the commitment they put into it should have some kind of "reward". I don't think they intentionally mean to say that Gaga owes them an album, just that their loyalty and commitment to her should come with perks. It's the same reason why some say that it's not easy to be a Gaga fan, because all they really want is to be "rewarded" by keeping up to date with an artist. If you're an Ariana fan you get albums & songs & "rewards" all the time w/ definite success. They're not really super fans, they're just pop fans that enjoy being able to use Gaga vicariously and live through her. It's a character flaw at the end of the day, and deeper than just the comment. tl;dr Those people have nothing going for them & Gaga has talent and success so they fill the void. When Gaga is in the creative process, they have absolutely nothing going for them & get messy with their words. This kitten over here (meow)
