Then you guys should also pick up the trash that you sent out to different 3rd world countries. If you’re goverment had no idea about this shouldn’t the national coast gaurds do a run in? Something smells really rotten here. I don't know I can't say. I didn't even know about this kind of issue until this thread
JustinTrudeau 2,419
Sees the thread with my name on it... ... logs off after reading the posts Spoiler But seriously, if this is an issue, then the companies need to step up and clean up the waters for the Philippines. It doesn't matter if other international countries dumped their trash, Canada can at least pick up theirs. BUT having a war over this is ridiculous. The Canadian companies can make up for this and be civilized in the future. No need to kill people over some greedy CEOs who doesn't give a sh!t about environmental health. Shipper 13,114
I did some research on this and found out that 90% of the world's e-waste is illegally dumped to developing countries in Africa and Asia like Ghana, Philippines, Somalia, Vietnam etc. Majority of the waste originates from Europe and North American countries and gets shipped to developing countries. It's no wonder how mad the president is. Imagine someone dumping garbage in front of your house. You actually have to clean their sh!t up. Disgusting. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/may/12/up-to-90-of-worlds-electronic-waste-is-illegally-dumped-says-un This is disgusting behavior and Canadian companies are not the only ones who practice this. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶
JazzGa 14,654
That's a really bold move. I respect this. The Philippines has a HUGE problem with first world trash travelling to its shores and polluting it even worse than the first world companies which sell its residents disposable prepackaged single use goods. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2019/01/15/683734379/an-island-crusader-takes-on-the-big-brands-behind-plastic-waste Canada is known to be a peaceful country which leads the way in terms of environmental issues, so it will look really bad on Canada's reputation if they don't take up the reins and do something about the plastic waste. I would be greatly surprised if Canada actually attacked the Philippines and didn't work this out diplomatically. But come on... a war? I believe this Philippine President is like Trump and runs his mouth with stuff he cannot back up on. This is like Trump saying he will nuke North Korea, Iran, and even Syria back in 2018. I think this statement is more like an angry rant. Who wouldnt get mad if someone throws trash in front of your house and now you're stuck with it? I doubt any war will come out of this. I seriously hope that a solution that is good for the environment will come out of it though after using such a bold statement. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶

McMonster08 4,528
LMAO but he can't say the same thing to China who's literally taking a part of our territory. We already won in international court about the dispute on the said area. Not to be racist/xenophobic or whatever but as time passes you'll see more and more Chinese people who's here for work. I went to a Starbucks here one time and most customers were Chinese as if I was transported to China or something. Also, one time I spent a night on a condominium I found on airbnb, and most of the residents were Chinese! They're all over the newly built condominiums in Manila, while a typical working Filipino on the other hand cannot afford to buy or even rent (in groups) a condominium.
