Well I’m commenting on this am I not? What do you want me to do exactly? Tweet my condolences? Snapchat my sorrows? This attack is horrible and especially on an important holiday for Christians around the world. But if this sort of attack happened in America - there would be widespread coverage of it and it would go down in the history books... unfortunately, since Sri Lanka is not on the map for many Westerners, it’s being forgotten. Again - Notre Dame a HUGE Christian symbol and it got an insane amount of coverage while burning down. If it was a church in a newly developing/developing nation - there would be nothing on it. illusionism 73
Death toll continues to rise. Up to 215 murdered and more than 600+ injured. Lots of foreigners including dozens of Americans killed and injured. 86-OUT

Nobody has ever heard of New Zealand before especially in America yet that was huge everywhere. Celebrities, presidential candidates etc. all specifically condemning anti-Muslim violence and rhetoric yet all we got here are a few vague "thoughts and prayers" tweets about "all humanity" being attacked. I'm saying that the woke police seem to get really bothered when tragedies are forgotten from foreign countries but when it's foreign Christians suddenly they don't care. 86-OUT

Yes people have heard of New Zealand before 💀 You are literally pulling things out of nowhere. PLUS New Zealand is a developed nation. I literally care about this and think it’s horrifying. As well as Anti-Muslim terrorism. And terrorism in general.

People know Sri Lanka as much as New Zealand omg. And that's great! You're not everyone though and the response from most I've seen has been "thoughts and prayers" and "all lives matter" which I've been told is the wrong response. Calling out the double standard and obvious bigotry here is important. 86-OUT
ALGAYDO 35,367
Hundreds of innocent people just got murdered in this terror attack, and all some of you can do is bitch and complain that not enough people are complaining about it. Wow.

Since you raised the example of New Zealand as part of "eurocentric" coverage, I would just like to remind you that New Zealand is under British rule. Therefore the eurocentric coverage comes without question. Christians are the minority in Sri Lanka with less than 9% of the population practicing Christianity. Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam have been the major practiced religions in the nation and have coexisted somewhat peacefully. The last war in the country lasting 26 bloody years were between two ethnic groups. Sinhala Buddhist majority and minority Tamil Tigers. Doesn't make it ok to attack minorities so I don't get why that point is relevant. Your kind of side stepping my point - and that is that because the victims are Christians you don't see any coverage and lots of vague "all lives matter" posts rather than explicitly condemning violence against Christians, which is rampant in many parts of the world and encouraged by hated spread by people who hate Christians. Islamic terrorism is evil, it's REAL and it's dangerous. I don't get why it's so easy to condemn white supremacists but not Islamists. 86-OUT

This is also the largest single terrorist attack since 9/11 in terms of lives lost so it's a bit strange how quiet everyone is on this. I was waiting for a government source to verify the attackers. So far the government and media has only referred to them as "attackers" and asked everyone to refrain from speculating. I will update the OP as soon as they identify them by name. Islamic terrorism is evil, it's REAL and it's dangerous. I don't get why it's so easy to condemn white supremacists but not Islamists. I was trying to tell you why it's probably not covered by world wide media. I'm not American and every news broadcasting channel here is talking about it. It's not okay to attack and murder anyone so can we please wait for the human remains covering streets and buildings to be cleared before you go into which faith is worse. Every single asian media outlet reporting this is referring to the perpetrators as "Terrorists" as they should be and nobody is kissing up to them because they're extremists of a particular religion. I hardly see the same happen with your media when a 'lone/ bullied when he was a child' white kid is apprehended with multiple body count on their hands. illusionism 73
I actually think Pence made the best comment on this I've seen. Omar's tweet is vague and All lives matter-ish. This is an attack on Christians not just "people celebrating Easter" (just say Christians) or "any faith". I think you need to be explicitly clear in situations like this, the vagueness allows people not to confront the reality. 86-OUT

This is such a lie because Dylan Roof and others are never referred to as anything other than racist murderers and terrorists. Find someone sympathizing with him and justifying him and others like him because I know of nothing. 86-OUT
