this tragedy did not happen in NZ though :triggered: why would the prime minister of NZ dress up as Jesus?

I am far from being a superstitious person, but the fire of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris at the beginning of Easter Week did turn out to be a bad omen :ohno:

Sending prayers

She had no problem throwing on a hijab and going to mosques when the attack happened there. Where is the solidarity for Christian victims all around the world though?

Death toll has risen to 207.

It’s so disgusting how this happens every year.

Religious persecution around the world is something that should not happen. Christians in many parts of the world are killed for practicing their faith.

People will use these attacks to try to divide us (as evident in this very thread), but it’s important to remember the hateful divisions humans create is part of the reason attacks like this happen.

I am very saddened about this.

If this is religious motivated, I really cursed the motive. :(

May all the dead victims rest in peace. And those who injured may get fast recovery. And all the family and friends of victims will be given strength and comfort through this.

I saw this first thing when I woke up.  It's so sad regardless of what religion or non-religion you are.

I hope all of you with friends and family in the area are able to reach them soon.  Please update us!

Crazy that the New Zealand attack thread has like dozens of pages and multiple threads that went on for days and days. Yet this thread with 4x as many people killed in 8 separate bombings is completely dead. Violence against Christians is literally just accepted as normal and ok - even good - by way too many people. Christians are human. The idea that their lives don't matter is just such disgusting hypocrisy from those who we heard endlessly from about New Zealand or even Charlottesville where only one person died and we heard about it for years.

And where are all the woke police who constantly complain that Westerners don't talk about attacks in foreign countries now? So if it's a terrorist attack against Christians abroad it doesn't matter? The left are such complete frauds.

Exactly. You (and probably me) will be attacked as "dividing" people when we're calling out the uncomfortable bigotry and double standards that exist like this. Just a year or so ago there was a massive terrorist attack on Palm Sunday in Egypt that killed tons of Christians as well - which the woke police were dead silent on.

It's like it never happened and just disappears into the past ready to happen again. The same people will work hard to ensure that happens with this case here too.

Would be more accurate for the OP to include the perpetrators of this terrorist attack - so far we know Islamist Zahran Hashim and another man. This is also the largest single terrorist attack since 9/11 in terms of lives lost so it's a bit strange how quiet everyone is on this.

I don’t think it’s because of religion that it’s not getting as much press but because Sri Lanka is a developing nation. I mean Notre Dame burned down and there are millions and millions of dollars being donated and celebrities tweeting their condolences.

This is horrifying. It's so sad how many innocent people die as a result of terrorism and pure evil. Unfortunately it's become the norm now. :ohno:

I doubt the OP did it on purpose. I'm sure they are just very concerned about their friend right now.

But that narrative comes from the woke police. They're the ones who usually denounce Western media for not focusing on foreign tragedies but they're as quiet as can be on this and I think we all know that it's because those targeted are Christians by Islamist bombers instead of the other way around where the Muslims are the victims (like New Zealand which we heard about everywhere for weeks). I doubt that if a white supremacist bombed multiple mosques in Sri Lanka there would be such a subdued response to it.

Can people seriously stop hurting others because of religion? It is their choice to believe what they believe. Let them live their lives. Let them be happy. Is them believing something that someone else doesn't really hurt them, when you get down to it, does it really?

Sending love to the victims.

Who are the “woke police” exactly?

And I guess we will never know but there are many anti-Muslim/anti-Christian attacks that happen around the world every day that we never hear about.

I would say you and other liberals generally who complain that foreign terrorist attacks don't get coverage by "euro-centric" media - but here we are with a huge tragedy and those people are all very, very quiet because those targeted were Christian.
