Any critic who's listened to Madonna's entire back catalogue should be mourning the loss of her ability to make the caliber of work that she used to. Instead, we get positivity even though we know the GP won't respond to it the same way. Critics are so out of touch with reality. It's partly why I decided never to pursue it professionally. Those are subjective "flaws" though. I listen to all kinds of music in all kinds of genres and styles, and I love it. The instrumental and production is rich, the lyrics are imo clever, and for all you know Maluma feat could have been a total artistic decision. Nothing you stated is facts. Bitch I'm Madonna
IHE 555
It has echoes of her past greatness but it's not great. Not terrible either. Hoping a good video connects me to 5he song better because I love soft Madonna voice.
Curunir 7,510
When it comes to films I can sometimes agree with critics or understand their point of view even if I don't agree with it. Music, on the other hand is a whole other thing. I have never, and I literally mean never read a review of a song or an album that I've agreed with. So I can't take them seriously because I feel like music and how it sounds to different people is too subjective to be judged professionally/objectively. ProdigyARTPOP 3,882
Once the video is out, the songs going to blow up somehow, itâs a really good and soft song. I like it

Nothing you stated is facts. Basically everything about how good music is is naturally subjective, though, so of course nothing I'm saying can be "proven." If someone much younger than these critics (I'm 29) can think Madonna's decisions aren't befitting someone of her age, then why are critics much older than me saying she's doing it right? I mean, when I was a teenager, I've called some artist's music childish before while critics have praised its cleverness. How can a teenager think something's childish but an adult doesn't? Something isn't adding up. Personally, I think the inclusion of Maluma is very apt considering that just 2 years ago, he provided Shakira with her highest viewed video (Chantaje) by featuring on it (2.3 billion views) and it was her highest liked video for a while too, with over 7.6 million likes to date. I'd never even heard of Maulma until that song came out. Surprise, surprise, this is the Latin artist Madonna wants to feature on her next album's lead single (and hey, Latin music has been very successful for the last 2 years into the bargain!). Nothing's a coincidence with her. I remember in 2013, when she was asked who she wanted to work with on her next album, she said Adele, Lorde and Daft Punk. Aka, 2013's success stories in a nutshell. When I see such blatant attempts at commercialism and trend-hopping, it's such a turn-off. If a non-professional can see this, why aren't professional critics calling it out? Smother Em Eh 6,824
Iâm kinda surprised of all the reviews tbh. I have mixed feelings about the song. What I do like tho is that it is different and I like that. I expected mixed reviews tho. Iâm anxious for the video. Maybe itâll make me love the song who knows? Get Applause & G.U.Y to 1B views! I agree with alot of what you said but let us not forget, Madge was putting out Latin bops before we were born. La Isla Bonita (86) and Who's That Girl (Spanish chorus) (87) just to name a few. She also had Spanish Lesson on Hard Candy I just can't with some people saying she's "jumping on the Latin music wave" when sis has legit been on it for over 2 decades, and that's the T
