This subgenre of music is very recent (the early 2010's) and no mainstream artist has taken it on and brought it to the front of the music scene. These genres are really beloved and have quite a lot of views on Youtube. They are also popular with people wanting music that they can play while studying, working or just for relaxing and distressing. They have some really popular playlists and they give off a very beautiful, nostalgic, dreamy and futuristic vibe. I think this would be an amazing fit for Gaga. It kind of fits into the Enigma aesthetic, it is a new genre for her and something new for her to show to the public overall, she can play on a lot of elements to market herself to the GP, and it fits in with the theory that she will be featured on Cyberpunk 2077 (A very popular video game that is coming soon). It can also be easy to gain a lot of streams on Spotify with this genre because it is really popular their in playlists. I think this might be a possibility. She is working with SOPHIE and BOYZ NOIZE and a lot of other EDM producers. She can really make this happen. I'm not sure Kavinsky was ever mainstream hit but its got a lot of views. I'd love her to explore the slightly darker side of synthwave, vaporwave, outrun etc... (But I can dream). I’ve been getting into the genre for about a year now and trying to produce it myself as well. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.
