giskardsb 12,565
pop culture moment? Bad Romance and BTW were huge also, but Shallow crosses demographic boundaries far wider than either of those. That moment in the first trailer for ASIB arguably propelled the entire hype of the movie creating the foundation for its success. 99% of entertainers don’t get one pop culture moment this big, much less multiple. It’s a testament to Gaga’s talent and charisma.

KatieJudasGaga4 67,907
Probably, Shallow was one of the biggest songs this year and a live performance got 70 million views and a random vegas one got 30+ million views.

Rifek 51,753
I still remember when I first heard the song in the trailer. Her powerful vocals left me SHOOK. And I was shook again when we realized that also the other music included in the trailer belongs to Shallow then there were the leaks and people were like: WTF is the structure? Radio won't pick it up. And they didn’t. And then BOOM. It was everywhere. Every single person could sing Shallow lyrics and the best about it is that it's an 6-month old song and it's still slaying. Even the US radio which refused to play it because 'it doesn't sound like Top 40 song'. And now they have it on Power rotation for 6 consecutive weeks Insane! ❗️ IG: thebumblebee__ ❗️

It's probably her biggest song and moment in pop culture since Born this Way (A Star is Born as well), but it in no way has reached half of the impact of Bad Romance or even Born this Way. Time will tell if Shallow has the influence of those two songs on the music industry and pop culture, but as of right now, no. Bad Romance elevated Gaga's career from being just a pop star to being an actual titan in music to the general public. It was probably her first recorded studio song that showed she can belt, sing, and growl in a beautiful way. It influenced others in the industry to go down a more electropop-route, and it was MASSIVE. Metrics aside, everyone and their mother knew Bad Romance. Stephen 30,432
Hmm no but it’s her biggest since Born This Way and a it’s a bigger achievement in other ways (Oscar etc) so let’s celebrate that
AlexanderMagno 10,746
Not at all. It's probably on of Gaga's biggest moment though. Despite her huge success in 2009-2010-2011, Shallow is the defining moment in her career that establishes Gaga as more than a pop star. She's a legend. But come on, Shallow is very successful, but we're very biased here. We're too focused in Gaga's world, and we forget there's a whoooole big world besides her. Shallow is not culturally that significant. It is just incredibly successful for Gaga career.
FfFfFfFF 56,454
Yes, one of the biggest but not *the* biggest. Shallow was a streaming hit, a radio hit recently and a selling mega hit that hit #1 in almost 20 countries. The memes around the movie/ Shallow were so many and got so many retweets. The nose scene, her ''Aaah'' during the bridge, they are iconic and will be referenced as part of the general memory.
