Yeah, it was really messy but at least we got to hear unique versions of songs which have never been used again

This remix is amazing, she should have kept the intro

I love The Monster Ball v.1.0 so much. In spite of the fact that her actual performance quality had room to grow...her looks/style, costuming, visuals, aesthetic, remixes, demeanor, all of it was f*cking on point. The taste level for this iteration of The Monster Ball has been unmatched on any tour after it including the iconic TMBv.2.0. The closest shes come to matching the taste level of this show was The Joanne World Tour.

MB 1.0 was good, but the Born This Way Ball was so much better to me. The costumes were more creative (the Xenomorph suit is the greatest costume I have ever seen), the storyline was awesome, the set list was better, her interaction with the audience was far more clever and intimate, her speeches were truly inspiring, the main stage design was great, the tone of the show was very fitting for the narrative (and how the set list tied into those two factors), the lighting wasn’t too dark or too bright, her wigs and makeup, and the choreography. The only thing the MB 1.0 holds its own against the BTWB in is the interludes, but that’s because the former had very intriguing video ones while the latter were implemented via the stage and props. It’s like comparing an art house to Disney World, or a ride there.

But then again, this is all subjective. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to taste. Different things will appeal to different people, and for that, I respect your point of view.

I love all of her tours and I attended TBTWB twice and love it and its entire metal biting aesthetic with the castle and everything. I appreciated the theater behind it from its storyline to the fact that it was all stage production over video screens. All of that being said, just from a purely aesthetic point of view, I don't personally think shes ever matched TMBv.1.0. Like I realize her performance quality wasnt 100% during that run of the tour and it didn't necessarily have the same kind of bonkers narrative that the born this way ball did but as far as the fashion and the way the films integrated with the stage and the overall production of it. I mean the large screens and that gigantic cube when she comes out for Just Dance alone was so picturesque. I think editorial is a good word to describe why its my favorite of all the tours shes done. It was dark and glam and editorial without being at all corny. Which I think TBWTB was, if not purposely so, in most moments. I also didn't care for the Versace costuming of TBWTB especially since she had been gaining weight at that time. Just felt kind of unflattering. I dont really like Versace period honestly. Too gaudy for me. But I love TBWTB anyway.
