For those that are not aware, Deadline estimates the profitability of films released each year including theatrical box office, ancillary revenue like DVD sales, streaming rights, and TV broadcast rights. This is compared against the production budget and estimated marketing costs of the film. They have estimated that ASIB resulted in $178M in profit for Warner Bros, the 10th most profitable film of 2018.

But the budget was like $40  million... and it grossed like 300 or 400? Where is the rest of the money?

I think promo is triple the budget and then there is tax

Not even just tax and promo...

 

The theaters that air the movie for example I'm sure keep a portion of the grossings as well

 

The pie is split a lot with different earners and taxes and expenses as well like u said

 

$178 is huge for profits. It's over 4X it's budget. Imagine investing and making over 400% profit :duck:
