"That somehow got interpreted as I have led this mass exodus out of the Republican party," she said. "It's not true at all: I am still a Republican.” Speak for yourself...or someone else...as I didn’t dismiss anyone. She’s been a Republican for the majority of her life. That is far, far from an “on again/off again Republican. And she is Pro-life, along with her fellow Republicans. I referred to Meghan McCain as a conservative and a Republican multiple times in this thread. One time I said "she isn't really a Republican," by that I meant, she diverts from the party line on several issues, most notably being anti-Trump, and pro LGBT rights. The fact that she is a Republican, and pro-life is fine. I don't agree with her, but I value having a dissenting opinion on a panel show. And since you said earlier you don't dismiss people based on their political affiliation - I can't say I understand why your so intent on making it clear she is a Republican. We all know that. She’s with the thirty per cent of Republicans who disapprove of Trump. She’s also with the minority percentage of Republicans that are pro LGBT. She’s also actively voting for people who will take away the rights of women, LGBT individuals and other minorities and people who are supporting Trump’s crazy ideas and proposals. Again, I called her a Republican multiple times in this thread previous to you quoting me. In the very post you are quoting, I said, "..but Meghan McCain is a white Republican..." When I said, a few lines later, that she "isn't really a Republican" I meant she isn't a traditional Republican in every regard. I think that was clear given the context of the rest of the post, and given that I had literally just called her a Republican in the same post. However I'm happy to clarify it for you now, if you think it's important: Meghan McCain is a Republican, and she is pro-life, and while I'm not, I enjoy hearing the points of view of people I disagree with. If you felt the only contribution you could make, or wanted to make, to this discussion was to correct me when I misspoke, I'm flattered.

ltlmnstr 2,771
John McCain benefits from his death positive PR to ignore his voting record as Senator. He voted against making MLK Day a national holiday. He voted against the nominations of Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. He flipped flopped on Same-Sex Marriage so many times because, frankly if his name was a headline, all the other Republican dealings would be ignored. Fixing the recession was hard enough with the house and senate barely skewing democrat. Meghan should stop speaking for someone who's dead. It's frankly annoying. ferretti 5,808
I literally came here thinking you meant Joy from Inside Out and I was so confused and angry about that. She was pretty rude though, for sure. I've never seen that show, so I don't know how common it is, but it doesn't seem like THAT big of a deal. disco stick tester, inquire within

In that moment Meghan technically was not listening to Joy anymore but Meghan calls out Joy? I would have assumed it is part of Meghan’s job to listen also. The only good thing she has ever said is about gay rights... everything else is trash. Like her fashion. You're right, it's almost every episode that she jumps in and dominates a conversation because someone begins to say something she doesn't like. 21 hours ago, M Monstre said: Listen, I think that sometimes Meghan dos have valid points, but she really needs to learn how to not get so emotional about these things. That was incredibly disrespectful and rude of her to do and I just don't understand why she continues to be on the show if she's just going to bicker with people. Because she wasn't famous before the show (right?) so why would she give up her only platform? She's so big-headed about her beliefs though. Everyone else is like "My opinion is ______ because I care about the people affected by ____," and Meghan usually comes in with "Well MY opinion is the opposite because I KNOW THIS COUNTRY AND YOU DONT GET IT BLAH BLAH BLAH." Entertaining but annoying! 19 hours ago, shoful said: All these people on the show are talentless losers. Why would anyone listen to any of their opinions OT: Was disrespectful for her to say that tho Whoopi Goldberg, hello. And one of them is a lawyer. Entertaining but annoying! You could argue Joy is like that too, though. I love Joy and I definitely, 100%, identify myself as a Democrat, but I think that Meghan has some valid points sometimes. Sometimes. For example, I do agree with her when it comes to the idea to stop perpetuating identity politics. That being said, she needs to work on how she delivers her opinion. Yeah, she can be loud, obnoxious, rude, etc., etc., but that shouldn't take away from the fact that she can have a valid point at times.
