I’ve always been curious about her RedOne hits from TF because they are so starkly different from the Fusari and other tracks and ones before that I wonder if it was just her versatility coming through or if a producer did more on certain songs than others. I thought I would be the only one who heard it. I don't think most people are paying attention to the synth/stem that is similar and hence can't hear it. But when you do the similarities, albeit small, are undeniable (not that it matters, lol). I think you're right though, it's probably just RedOne using a generic beat the way he did in Judas. 4 hours ago, Applause said: The progression is similar. Nothing wrong with it tbh tho. Inspired. Exactly this. But even then the notes change after some time.

I do think with Just Dance because of his other song which is similar and there's different stories of how/where Gaga wrote the song. Redone also has that other song which people say sounds similar to Poker Face, and he uses the same Just Dance drums in another song too so I think he duplicated the project and deleted the synths. I have a feeling Poker Face was created together by the both of them but when they started working together he would have obviously played her a lot of beats so that she could know his style of production so she could have been like "I like this from this song, and this element you used in this one, and this intro from this one, and these drums from this one..." there's nothing wrong with that especially if it's unreleased beats he made but it makes sense why they could do things so fast and we know she used existing beats in ARTPOP too

I agree that Pokerface was probably done together as there’s such strong instrumentation that it can be done acoustically as well and shine. From a songwriting standpoint, it seems more involved than JD which is a fairly simple song (not a knock to it whatsoever).

Zander 14,910
The synth progression seems to be what makes it sound similar. If it didn't have the synths it wouldn't sound the same.

Just Dance, as much as I love it and I mean this not as an insult, basically sounded like an entry level pop song with generic influences of dance/trance/club synths etc. This ringtone sounding similar is just proof of that, it also sounds like Cascada. I mean it was the sound of the time and its all very basic, but what made the song distinctive was Lady Gaga herself. The way she played with the lyrics and her vocals alongside that odd bridge that only she could pull off is what made it Gaga while sounding generic enough production/melody wise to give her her first hit song and prepare people to digest whatever would come next from her. Its like she was dosing people with her gaga-ness so that they'd be able to eventually digest weirder offerings from her.
