In what way does this contradict what I said? Both Rihanna and the feature benefit from her songs. Umbrella benefited from the fact that it had Jay Z or it, Work benefited from the fact that it had Drake on it etc. This doesn't mean that Rihanna wasn't a big factor that helped them being successful.

But that's literally what all other fan bases do to Gaga or Beyoncé. So why can't the same be done for Rihanna? Y'all are making her out to be waaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than she actually is.

For instance: 

- Stans DRAGGED Beyoncé for jumping on Ed Sheeran's Perfect (which stalled in the top 5 UNTIL Bey came aboard and it went #1 because of that), but have failed to do the same to Rihanna when Britney came aboard (S&M only went #1 because of Britney's remix). I mean, the hypocrisy from Rihanna stans is REAL.

- Rihanna flops to heavens and scraps an era and everyone seems to forget her ARTPOP moment (one top 5 hit, top 20 underperformance and third single TOTAL bomb, peaking lower than G.U.Y. despite actual promo)

- Gaga is dragged for her two-day Amazon deal, while Rihanna has the EXACT SAME deal for A WHOLE WEEK and can't even pull 200k in sales and everyone forgets

- Seeing stans claim Gaga needs Rihanna for her lead single to smash like most Rihanna collabs haven't flopped.

- The only #1 hit she's scored since her ARTPOP moment is a song with DRAKE, who is way more popular than her.

"Love the Way You Lie" was the second single from Recovery, the first single "Not Afraid" went #1 on the Hot 100 and was a huuuuuge hit. He didn't need Rihanna. Are you serious?

And Drake released an album in 2010 which sold more than Rihanna's:

Loud: 207,000 copies in its first week, #3 on Billboard 200 (November 2010)

And Eminem sold 741,000 copies in his first week IN JUNE, lead single "Not Afraid" DEBUTED at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in f_cking MAY 2010, the ALBUM went #1 in JUNE 2010, while "Love The Way You Lie" came out in AUGUST 2010.

Eminem came from two mediocre eras even though he has a devoted fan base that always buys his albums. Love The Way You Lie was the success it was because of RIHANNA. The song basically alludes to her relationship with Chris Brown, the hype was huge.

Drake was a still considered a newcomer when What’s My Name came out. He was huge in America but to the rest of the world he was nothing. What’s My Name put his name on the map.

The LEAD SINGLE from Eminem's 2010 album was "Not Afraid". It debuted at #1 on the HOT 100. Then the album went #1 on the album chart with huge first week sales. Then three months later "Love the Way You Lie" came out. 

Let me rephrase again:

The single that came before "Love the Way You Lie" was a big fat #1 single. A huge hit. A worldwide smash. "Love the Way You Lie" came after that.

Can you read at all? As I said, there’s no use in comparing albums sale because Rihanna was never and never will be an album artist. Her focus was always the Hot 100 Charts. Eminem has a very strong fanbase that will always buy his albums. But how about we take a look at the 2010 year-end charts?

"relying" has a negative connotation, like she needs this for success. She has collaborated a lot in her career but she also has eight solo number ones. She can do it all on her own.

What's completely interesting is this:

Only Girl (In the World): 6 million copies sold

Rude Boy: 3 million copies sold

What's My Name?: 6 million copies sold

Not Afraid: 10 million copies sold 

You implied the only reason Eminem had a hit that era was because of Rihanna which is simply untrue since he got a bigger hit than anything she released without her. Rihanna wasn't the sole reason Love The Way You Lie smashed since Eminem's previous single, which was a SOLO single, was a big hit (bigger than the lead single from Loud), so if anything BOTH contributed to that song smashing. Eminem would've probably still had a hit with that song if the featuring wasn't Rihanna considering his previous single smashed without anyone on it. 

So regardless of posting those Hot 100 year-end stats, Eminem was still the bigger act in both albums and singles as well - bigger than Rihanna. Your initial statement was that it was Rihanna who made the song smash but it wasn't at all. If anything, it was as huge as it was because of Eminem  The proof is in the sales.

I REALLY want to hear why Rude Boy was bigger than Not Afraid though. How is 3 million bigger than 10 million? I'll wait for your response once again.
