StrawberryBlond 14,872 Posted April 4, 2019 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful she got the nominations she did (top sales artist, chart achievement, top soundtrack, top selling song) but where on earth where the nominations for top female best, top duo/group, top billboard 200 artist, top billboard 200 album, top hot 100 artist and top hot 100 song? What kind of awards system is based on commercial success but having a #1 song that has had crazy chart longevity, is critically acclaimed and has won Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Oscar doesn't get you nominations? It drives me mad how, even when Gaga's successful, she's still locked out of the major awards a lot of the time because it's all about bigging up the newer, younger acts that make more "relevant" music. How does Ella Mai get nominated in best female artist when her one and only successful song didn't even go #1 and her album flopped and will most likely be a one hit wonder? Gaga had the most successful album for a female artist since Cardi B's Invasion Of Privacy. How doesn't that alone get that soundtrack nominated for top 200 album?
