Joshie S 6,512 Posted April 4, 2019 Share Posted April 4, 2019 I think Gaga always knew she wanted to do a record about her family/aunty.. but like everything she does, she wanted it to be the right time. I think she was going in a moderately different direction with the original, but then she really put life into perspective after Bowie died and wanted to make an album that meant something. Pair that with Mark Ronson and you get Joanne. It was perfect and exactly what she needed to do at that time in her life. I feel Angel Down and Sinners Prayer (not the sound) were part of original ideas for LG5, and Gaga wanted to carry them across to Joanne.
