Moderators such as @haroon , I actually don’t know how you guys deal with this site anymore. It’s so toxic. I’m deleting my account and I implore you all to try and turn this site into something solely focussed on Gaga and celebration of her art. I find the constant defending of MJ disgusting and attack of sexual abuse victims abhorrent. Goodbye.

sis what? This is world news. If you don’t want to have a civil discussion then don’t even begin to slander MJ without any CONRETE EVIDENCE. What’s so toxic with providing facts? I’m trying to have a civil discussion with you but all I got was ‘delulu creeps’. It’s ironic because you are here bashing MJ without any source to back up. But you do you sis.

I don’t love MJ. He wasn’t someone I was a fan of. At least musically.

I adored MJ growing up. From 15-20 i basically exclusively wore leather coats inspired by his fashion and tried my best to copy his dance moves. I still think the only person ever to match his musical genius is Gaga.

I never believed the rumours. Now that i'm older now though i see things from a different perspective. Don't get me wrong i hope he is innocent. But my gut tells me something was very wrong with that situation. I can't let my fandom blind me.

If he wasn't an icon we all loved and some random guy who slept in the bed with kids that were not his own literally EVERYONE would think he was a pedophile. Just saying. I want to believe he was innocent too. But seems unlikely frankly.

Not to throw my opinion in on this, just offering this little thought in this particular argument. His fame does matter to this case because he *isnt* just some regular guy with a fairly normal life. Idk whether he did what he’s accused of or not, but we can’t hold the standard of “we would definitely think he did this were he not famous!” because you’re right, we would. If an ordinary person did this it would ring alarms, but Michael was most absolutely not an ordinary person, he was probably the most unordinary person we’ve had come out of entertainment, and that did warp his entire life in ways both profound and subtle.

Again, to avoid attacks here, I’m not giving thought on his guilt or not, just addressing this specific talking point since I don’t think it’s very well thought out.

I see no one attacking sexual assault victims. They're debating over an unsolved situation where it's not clear what happened in the first place.

And the fact that Oprah is backtracking from her first commentary on this speaks a lot.

How? Literally there’s zero proof. ZERO. It’s still an alleged accusation. Plus why are the victims family needs money from MJ’s behalf to make their message point across? All they want is money. They know MJ has the wealth, he has the fame and he’s very vulnerable. Look I want to believe the victims but it’s hard especially after watching the documentary. It feels like a staged scenario. I suggest you to watch it and listen to both sides. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I hope my gut is lying to me and i hope he's innocent. Really. I'm a huge fan of MJ. You said there is no evidence. But as someone who was sexually assulted myself i understand how hard it is to prove such things. As Gaga said in the Kesha case "when men assault women they don't invite people to watch"

The way MJ acted around children is really suspicius. Yes it is possible he was just misunderstood a man trapped in a childs body. But that's actually something a lot of pedophiles say sadly. Again i hope it's not true because he stood for so much good in this world.  But something just doesn't add up about his obsession with young boys.

That's totally a valid point. :) all i was saying was as fans sometimes it's hard for us to see things logically.

Yeah I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m kinda neutral on this one too. I just want this to end honestly everything about this smells fishy and wrong. On one side, the victim and family provide zero evidence against him besides their brief description on what happened between them and MJ throughout the whole documentary while within the last 10 hours, a lot of source have come up citing the fact that Michael Jackson is innocent and one of the victim, Jimmy Safechuck's story of being abused by Michael Jackson in Neverland's train station has been derailed. Also the documentary has a lot of FLAWS. For example, they mentioned "Michael Jackson liked little white boys" on the documentary. First accuser was biracial, second accuser was latino. They can't even get their own narrative straight. Like I said, I’m still neutral on this situation. But it seems like on MJ’s behalf, they are providing receipts after receipts while I have yet to see the victims receipts.

Agree with you to a certain extent. Michael Jackson get this special treatment because first he’s famous, he has talent, he has a sweet and humble personality with a big heart and he loves hanging out with children which is why it’s hard for people to believe what he’s doing. People find it hard to believe what he has allegedly done because his portrayal towards the public has always been positive. Again, not trying to blame him Nor the victims. I’m just pointing out how the society works.

Oh I agree with that; I was speaking more to his VERY warped mindset in general. He was known to be a very eccentric and "delicate" figure. Given the terms of his upbringing and life in general, I just mean that we can't impose the same template that we would on others on him. I don't say that because we need to say, "Oh what a hard life, if he did this that's okay", but more that if we want to understand the man at the center of this case, it is absolutely imperative to understand the context with which his life was built. He didn't grow up playing ball in the yard or on a baseball team; I just don't find it worthwhile to say that "if anyone else did this we would..." because Jackson is very much *not* anyone else. That matters in the point you've made, but also in that we have to think of him differently if we want to understand the story.

To make a rough comparison: it's like in Batman where some think he's crazy because "what kind of man would dress as a bat?" while we the readers know the inner turmoil that led him there. Thus, even if he is "crazy" we can understand and make a more educated argument either way. I think the same applies here. There has to be recognition of Michael's extraordinary circumstances of living if we're going to be making claims to his innocence or guilt.

Not angry with you but I'm so tired of seeing this argument.

I've shared a bed with my sisters, grandparents, best friends, neighbors, friends from school, several dogs, and a couple cats. I have yet to f*ck any of them.

A grown man sharing a bed with kids is a bit odd but not inherently malicious or deviant. Especially when you consider that there was always another adult, the kids always needed their parents' permission, a lot of the times the kids' parents would actually be there too, and Michael made an effort every time, especially after 1993, to be cautious with it. But in the end, he refused to let Evan Chandler's greed pervert his innocence and I admire that.

When he was with those kids, sex was the last thing on his mind. He was a believer in childrens' innocence and, as a man who was used and abused by most adults that knew him, he gravitated towards that and wished that more adults would act like that. Free of judgement, greed, and evil intentions.

If you consistently shared your bed with cute little boys that you courted around like they were your boyfriend, holding hands, buying gifts, holding them in your lap, traveling with them, etc...it would be looked at as highly suspicious in today’s world.

Sleeping with your cousins at Christmas or sisters, friends or pets is something entirely different, and you know it.

Harris Walz 2024

Oprah's probably dodging a slander lawsuit by the Jackson Estate. She's complicit in this sensationalization of this documentary.
