Othon 34,299
I've seen several people repeatedly asserting that Biden is the strongest choice for 2020 (logical to a certain extent, given that he and Sanders have been battling it out for the top spot in nearly every poll released so far and both trounce Trump by double digits nationally and in key swing states), but he has a litany of potential problems that are going come back to haunt him should he announce his candidacy (aside from his record, which is awful, and his policy proposals, which are pretty mediocre). Namely: his long talked about behavior around women. Just today, The Cut published a piece by Lucy Flores, who worked with him while she was running Lieutenant Governor in Nevada back in 2014. "I found my way to the holding room for the speakers, where everyone was chatting, taking photos, and getting ready to speak to the hundreds of voters in the audience. Just before the speeches, we were ushered to the side of the stage where we were lined up by order of introduction. As I was taking deep breaths and preparing myself to make my case to the crowd, I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. “Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me?” I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair. I was mortified. I thought to myself, “I didn’t wash my hair today and the vice-president of the United States is smelling it. And also, what in the actual ****? Why is the vice-president of the United States smelling my hair?” He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn’t process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused. There is a Spanish saying, “tragame tierra,” it means, “earth, swallow me whole.” I couldn’t move and I couldn’t say anything. I wanted nothing more than to get Biden away from me. My name was called and I was never happier to get on stage in front of an audience. Imagine you’re at work and a male colleague who you have no personal relationship with approaches you from behind, smells your hair, and kisses you on the head. Now imagine it’s the CEO of the company. If Biden and I worked together in a traditional office, I would have complained to the HR department, but on the campaign trail, there’s no clear path for what to do when a powerful man crosses the line. In politics, you shrug it off, smile for the cameras, and get back to the task of trying to win your race." She goes on to detail how many times this behavior has been reported on. It seems almost inevitable that there are countless women who could potentially come forward once he announces, and unlike Republicans who didn't seem to care at all about Trump's assault accusations (or the fact that he admitted it on tape), I can't see a Democrat winning with this sort of creepy behavior in his past (nor should one, to be frank). There are so many photos on the internet just like these, with women looking deeply uncomfortable while he grabs them, kisses them, whispers to them, etc. His decision to run for president might ruin his reputation entirely. This could potentially open the floodgates. I wasn't supporting him for 2020 before this, but I can't imagine doing so now unless he ends up being the Dem nominee and I have no choice. FATCAT 60,888
He hasn't even announced his run and people are already painting him to be a rapist. Our president has literally admitted to being a sexual predator. Vote in the primaries. This kitten over here (meow)

I'd rather we didn't discredit women when they come forward about the vice president of the United States touching them and kissing them inappropriately by dismissing their accounts because Trump's a sexual predator, but that's just me. The bar can't be that low.

You're the one grossly exaggerating and misrepresenting the OP by saying they're framing him as a rapist. They're conveying the message of a woman who was bothered by Biden kissing her and we've all watched him act this way with dozens of other women. The OP's questions is basically: why does he deserve the nom when there's dozens of other dems who aren't habitual creeps?

Ego Slayer 402
We have to be smart, I feel like this is a problem within the Democratic Party. We need to elect someone like joe Biden so we get the leaning/undecided votes in order to beat trump. His base is just to big not to. I’m pretty sure there are allegations against everyone that runs but who would we rather have,Trump or Biden? Make your choice.

I thought it was generally agreed upon that Biden was sleezy and that's why he shouldn't run... this is the first time I've heard someone speak about his actions making them uncomfortable so thanks for posting the article!
