People only have the opportunity if they want to. Saying they don’t have the opportunity is making them weaker. Thats like telling people “you cant land on the moon”, “you cant perform a heart transplant”.

I personally don't think parents should be ashamed. After all, the first generations of Americans were refugees and the Native Americans (whether by choice or force) let them in. There are so many historic cases of refugees around the world. They risked their lives by boarding on ships for month-long journeys and living on new land with unfamiliar flora and fauna. But that case is acceptable in our society.

I don't know what would happen if we ran to Mexico. It would just have created an alternative world, not necessarily better or worse.

And people back in their home countries have tried to take action, and lives were sacrificed. But they might just well be tired of fighting for something that regular citizens can't change. 

Didn’t they try to send the kids back with the parents but courts were going crazy? 

Anyway we can’t just fix and house every family who needs help. How is that realistic. And I feel like every time the US does try to help situations in the world, people bark back “You’re making this worse”. So I think Isolationism is the right strategy rn

My view: This is not our responsibility to take care of these children. The parents should be ashamed of themselves for doing this but we can fix all the worlds problems. The people who are running into our country need to take action for themselves. When Americans were fed up with British rule. What would’ve happened if we just ran to Mexico...

if people want to change their country they need to take action. Don’t go relying on anyone else
