Quartz 12,535 Posted March 27, 2019 Author Share Posted March 27, 2019 Bad Comments for Hotel @ARTGOD A mess. This season, just like another certain season, just doesn’t know what it’s trying to be. There are so many characters, plots, themes and twists that I can’t really say that this season has a story, it’s more like a series of vignettes. That said, I think it does have a lot of really great individual scenes and moments, some of my favorites actually, they just don’t mesh together. @huttont - Gaga held this one together and carried it. If Gaga wasn’t in it, probably would have ranked it lower. The storyline was meh @SILENT HILL I felt like this season had no real plot. There were way too many char?acters, and I literally felt nothing when most of them died. I also felt that this season just relied on shock value. So many parts were too random and/or unecessary. @monster78619 I would rate this higher than a 4 but rules are rules :lolga: plot was a bit of a mess and John Lowe wasn’t a very interesting character to me. The whole “murdered when drinking and doesn’t remember” is such bullshit but oh well. Another season where characters are gay for the sex scenes. Like why bother making Will Drake gay if he is gonna be marrying the countess, just mke him straight from the get-go it seems like such lazy and messy writing to have him be like “this woman is different”. But love to watch it back still because of how Gaga gets better throughout and to see certain characters like sally or Donovan (:v:) @neptugne Hated the main character, wish his storyline was completely removed from the season. I loved Gaga, I loved individual characters and some of the storylines presented, but overall I think it was weak and incoherent. It's like either the Detective gets removed, or the Countess gets removed, the 2 of them did not really coexist in storyline imo, 2 different shows combined into one. @robbiemalik Gaga was fantastic, but the story could’ve been shorter with less episodes. @Bloody Grammys My favorite setting by far. The music was also SPLENDID. Unfortunately, most characters were UNBEARABLE and the plot was a hot mess. @Meredith Grey Hotel was basically split into a few separate storylines. The Countess and her love triangle (more like octagon honestly though), the ten commandments killer and Kathy Bates having some sort of crisis with ghost junkie Sally there. Kathy's storyline was only connected to The Countess because she was with her son and Sarah's character interacted with that storyline one time to randomly save the Countess. Also, they resolved Sally's storyline by giving her an iPhone and making her grunge-insta famous which, just, no I can't even get into my opinions on that. The 10 Commandment's Killer reveal made absolutely no sense either and only connected back to the Countess when March made him kill her. This season annoys me so much more because everything the Countess did in the series was so fresh and unique and entertaining. The Valentino/Tristan thing was the best use of having an actor play 2 characters in the season EVER and her relationship with March was intriguing but never really went anywhere. I can't really say much about it, it was a great season and a great beginning for the show. Comparing it with the rest of the seasons, it's not the best. @Mirages The OG season was just a great introduction to this fraky and seductive show. What made it great was that there wasn't anything like it on TV at the time. huttont This season was so fresh and new. It was actually scary and the most rewatchable season. It was filmed beautifully and the acting was great. Full of so many intriguing characters. @Panchecco This is easily one of the best written seasons and probably the creepiest. The plot was kept simple but still full of unexpectable twist and turns. A very strong starting point for this anthology. @monster78619 only one decimal point behind Asylum, but decimals aren’t allowed so :selena: some find MH boring, but to me it sets the standard for the whole series. Interesting and mysterious plot lines, unpredictable twists, and every character served a purpose (unlike other seasons where a character is gay because “why not”). @DontDoubtDavid Season that started it all. A strong start to the season. @neptugne The fact that it started this whole thing, an iconic season. It was so long ago so for my judging it definitely has that going against it, as well as the very... hetero? storylines... I hated Zoey, I hated Tate, I liked the Mom but that was really it tbh.. It was creative and special, a good season. @SwissMonster I know it’s a bit cliché to say that the first season of a show is the best/one of the best but honestly it’s just the way it is. It’s just such a perfect harmony between Horror, Comedy and an interesting plot. The actors where just perfect and I was so happy to find almost all of them back in season 8! Just a perfect season :kara: @robbiemalik Iconic first season that started everything. @LittleMichael A classic, but I prefer other seasons @imnotyourbabe10 - Where it all started. Scared the **** out of me when I was watching -- even in broad daylight. @Bloody Grammys I loved it, honestly. However, we have seen the show go bigger and crazier and the story, plot twist, characters, etc fell behind.?? @Meredith Grey This season is flawless imo. Most "ghost stories" fall into so many cliches and seem repetitive but this season turned the ghosts into well-rounded characters just as much as they did the living rather than just being "evil" and the fact that it ended with the birth of the anti-christ. There’s nothing particularly wrong about it but everything this season does, other seasons do bigger and better. People also seem to forget how clunky, messy and cringey this season is at times. While the core of the story does indeed work very well, this season makes the same mistakes other seasons do, and it doesn’t have nearly the same level of spectacle to distract me.??
