You are Kendall Jenner. Yes it’s impressive you’ve built an empire but you’re never going to have the struggle of someone normal trying to make it. Not even 5% of it. People would take you seriously from the get go, plus the huge following. There is more value to a business than capital. Non-financial assets can be converted to cash.

Self made is starting from nothing. Selling sh*t out of your garage with no help and turning it into a billion dollar company. She needs to stop acting like she struggled. Self made is putting everything on the line and having nothing to fall back on. 

But, to be fair, I think she's still self-made being able to make a name for herself (she even had a feud with Kylie Minogue) because she could have easily been like the 4th Jonas brother, or Noah Cyrus, or even Natali Germanotta.... but through her hard work and her persona, she blossomed into a brand herself  Because it's not EASY to be pleasing and liked by the general public! Knowing how difficult, volatile, and unforgiving the GP is.
