Sorry if I posted in the wrong area, it's not fan art so I don't know what it's classed as

this is my 2014 filmmaking reel so I need to make a new one since I have better projects now and will probably use another Gaga song

Dude, you got some talent!

EDIT: I just watched Pulse, and it looked cool, but I didn't get the plot. Could you explain? :)

Spoiler

Did he kill his daughter and he's reflecting about it? What's the meaning of the stop sign and lights?

Omg, this is SO well done. The camera work, the editing, the CGI, the cast.. EVERYTHING! :nooo:

I even got major FAME teas with the mannequins breaking.

And I love the way you matched the scenes with the music. A part of me is actually disappointed that you're not working with Gaga on a music video. :triggered:

I've been thinking about a project like this ever since I heard the J.V. remix of G.U.Y. But there's no way that's gonna come to life. :messga:

Thanks!

and with Pulse I know it's really ambiguous and some other people have thought the same as you, but basically he is a hit man on his way to the latest target and he keeps seeing signs that he should stop and not go through with this, he's tapped into the phone of the target who calls his(the targets) daughter and during this call is when our main character envisages her in the mirror (I completely see how it has a ghostly vibe and why people would think it's his daughter though, but it's basically him thinking of the child of his target and him not wanting to go through with it)

Thank you so much! I can't actually remember but I'm sure FAME was one of my inspirations as was the opening credits for the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I'd love to work with her, I showed some of that CGI art project to DJWS and he watched the clips but that's it haha

Wow you are so talented.

Do you do this full-time? And what is it that you specialise in? Is it the CGI work or the standard filming?

That was a great reel! I love the energy of it.  I got into filmmaking and editing about a year ago and I really enjoyed watching this. How long have you been in this field?

You'll make it one place or another, you're f-ing talented. Did you do all the CG work yourself?

Where did you study/learn all this and how long has it been since you started? Like I can't help myself but wonder, I'm sorry if I'm being a weirdo. :messga:

Thanks!

I've been freelance since I was 18 (mainly in cgi but sometimes editing, sound design and filming like music videos) but only finally got a full time job a year ago mainly doing cgi/vfx for a youtube channel as well as some sound design/music

Thanks! that's great to hear :) I basically started when I was 11 but obviously really bad stuff haha the work in this reel are from when I was 16 years old to 20. I'm 25 now so I'd say I've been doing decent work for the last 8 years and freelance for the last 6

hahaha no it's really cool you asking questions, normally I'm just a behind the scenes person so don't get asked much haha

and thank you so much! Yeah I did all the cg work which I think I'm strongest in although this was the first cg collab I've done:

and I just learned from trial and error with my own stuff since I was 11 and started watching youtube tutorials when I was 15 till now (I'm 25) and have been hired for other people's projects for work since I was 18 which can be cool

Lmao, I can relate to this so much! No one really knows about the stuff I've done, I've actually dabbled in 3D a bit myself and I started when I was young just like you did. But you came SUCH a long way and all by yourself like.. I can't even comprehend that. I thought you at least took a 4 year undergraduate program to study all this.  Did you seriously not? :laughga:

This video is incredible! I just saw the VFX breakdown and my mind is blown!  I've seen CGI much worse in actual TV shows. *cough*OnceUponATime*cough*

Honestly, congratulations.. not a lot of people have the ability or opportunity to do something they love (and be so good at it the way you are) and seeing your work and hearing your story, it just warms my heart.

I hope there's a lot more down the road for you and we'll be seeing a lot more stuff from you in the future (hopefully someday in the big screen:staymad: ).
