SharkmanthaC 115,119 Posted March 17, 2019 Share Posted March 17, 2019 I came across this on Facebook. As a person in general I am upset by this. Why in the world would this be okay? As a teacher, and licensed school administrator, I cannot for the life of me think of a reason that this would be okay. Schools need to do better for protecting their students, not add to the bullying these teens may face. Even though I’m at an elementary school, we have already had a discussion of how we may handle a trans student to respect their rights. Edit: I apologize if this has been posted/discussed before. ctherainbow 3,162 Posted March 17, 2019 Share Posted March 17, 2019 A school the next county over from where I live is being sued because a trans* girl was changing in the locker room and another student looked at her and saw genitalia she wasn’t expecting. So the other student’s parents sued the school alleging sexual harassment. It’s ridiculous the level of ignorance and the general terror cishet people seem to have over the topics of gender and genitalia. (Sidenote, if you live in NEPA/southern tier NY/north Jersey and would like to help me coordinate a presence at the aforementioned school’s board meetings, or help with their legal defense, please PM me ) I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.
