Anyway one thing I notice... The rankings are always different depending on who does it and what they look at but I notice Vienna tends to be in almost every list! I thought that crime and cities kinda go hand in hand, which is why so many people want to move to rural areas. I've never truly got these lists for that reason. I also highly doubt that European cities are some of the safest to live in. We have relatively small populations compared to the rest of the world and yet, the amount of crime we endure, especially terror attacks, are very high, especially nowadays. Small countries technically have more crime than NYC and Chicago purely because of their population. If there's only 10 of you living on an island, but someone steals a penny chew out the one shop on the island, the place is now a hotbed of crime, that's how these statistics are generally compiled, which is why sometimes, the Vatican City is cited as having the most crime - when there's barely 1000 people living in an area, any little crime will be monumental. But if you're looking at other things, like economics and house prices, far enough. But I always think that the "best" cities to live in have to the safest ones. Well these lists are usually ranking large cities to begin with not small towns so the higher crime from larger cities factor ends up not affecting these lists that much because big cities are being compared to other big cities A recent study here in Canada excluded any city under 100,000 so a global study certainly would strip out small cities But as I said in my comment above these lists vary a lot depending on who's doing them and what they are looking at I've seen lists where Canada had like 4 cities in the top 10 and Toronto was ahead of Vancouver... I wonder if whoever made this list has ever visited Vancouver, or Canada at all for that matter. Drug abuse is rampant in Vancouver. There are streets you can't walk down and shouldn't drive down because homeless people and drug addicts are throwing themselves in front of cars for insurance money and walking through the streets like the walking ****ing dead.
