OBEY

No one cares about Joanne except MR and no one cares about ARTPOP.

She needs something fresh and catchy for LG6, she can do a electronic-ish ballad ala  What About Us i wouldnt mind

It only won just because the Grammys happened at the peak (almost) of the ASIB era

So they loved ASIB so much they decided to vote for Joanne's album track rather than ASIB's lead single Shallow in SOTY and ROTY?

Or maybe because the song was the best on its category. By that logic Shallow should have won one of ROTY & SOTY too (which makes a lot more sense than what you said)

In my opinion, since the overall reception of Lady Gaga changed during this era, they rewarded her with a Grammy for Joanne (long ass title).

ROTY and SOTY were much more competitive categories and she was probably the runner up in both of them.

Don't you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?

And don't get sassy defending Joanne (piano version) cause y'all didn't even expect it to be nominated in the first place... :coffee:

Why is so hard to believe that Joanne won that award because it deserved too? The song was LEGIT the best on its category. It had the best vocals by far + it was emotional too. Not to say that they choose this song to be nominated before ASIB era peak

I’d be curious to know who told you that Gaga will surely do “EDM” or “country” or whatever. Tell me :ohwell:

I'm not saying that it didn't deserve to win, I said that if ASIB didn't happend it wouldn't  have won. When was the last time that the most deserving song or album won at the Grammys? Childish Gambino won both ROTY and SOTY when in fact only the video deseved attention. Cardi won and her album was good but not the best rap album. Ariana won over Kelly. Beck over Bjork. And these things happen every year.

Plus Gaga's previous win was for Cheek to Cheek (partly thanks to Tony) in 2015. Nobody saw it coming.

The Grammys can be unpredictable too, it doesn't just go on a line every single time. I just don't think people got there and went like "Hmm Gaga has a great momentum with ASIB, let me vote for this Joanne song" It's 100% stupid and not believable when the fact is that Joanne was indeed the best song
