I think that's for records sold (including singles) tho and in the US specifically

 

Records sold is kinda a dumb way to measure success cause it counts a single the same as an album if I'm not mistaken which is dumb because an album is worth a lot more than a single

She outsold Madonna only in the US I think. Mariah isn't that big in Europe (at least).

mariah is only big in north america and during christmas season. madonna outsold and outimpacted everywhere else. :vegas:

Yeah I don't remember the distinction but that's what I think too. I think it was in the US she outsold Madonna

 

Also I think it's records sold (so including singles). If it's just albums I think even the US Madonna sold more

 

Mariah had a bunch of #1 monster hits. She was bigger than Katy Perry at her prime for singles. So for records sold those singles really inflated her sales numbers
