PI >> Poker Face, LoveGame, Paparazzi, Telephone, You and I, Applause, DWUW, GUY (comparing her singles)

We already talked about your ... questionable ... taste concerning Gaga's singles. I prefer pretty much every single single by Gaga over PI and I'm sure most people do. PI wouldn't have flopped otherwise. The people I know just said that it was too loud, annoying and shouty and I highkey agree  :queenga:

It's a cute song but not lead single worthy.

how come it's not lead worthy when it's one of Gaga's best song period??

I have seen a lot of Katy talk on here the last few days. I cant believe she is now considered a "flop" or "over" because she had only ONE flop album. Its exactly the same that happened to Gaga with ARTPOP. She will rebound. And 365 is a collab and not on any of her albums, so its not really that important. Its like expecting Til it happens to you to slay the charts :selena:

This is exactly what I said a few weeks ago when we had the "who's a major pop girl" discussion. Katy is still a major force in music and we should wait until her second album flops miserably until we can should cancel her A-list status.

Yes. And a 2nd flop album wont destroy her career either. Look at Gaga. ARTPOP (wich is an underperformance, same as Witness), then C2C (not really commercial) and Joanne (MR the only hit, wich took months). And she is just FINE

I still don't understand how is ARTPOP considerate a flop with nearly 3M pure sales WW and 2 top 10 hits on hot 100 and that era only lasted a couple of months untill Gaga decided to move on. I mean for Gaga's standards it was an underperformance (if that era would have gone like it was planned most likely it would have did much better) but that album is far from being a flop as on itself.

PI is trash and deserve the flop :gaysia:

How can you call yourself a fan and say something like this about ANY of Gaga's songs?

Yes exactly what I think! Its an underperformance compared to her previous albums but still did pretty good. It can look like a flop if you compare it to ASIB though :selena:

The difference is that all Gaga's singles except two (TIHTY and GUY) went at least top 40.

I don't think that You can put Gaga's and Katy's career path near each other. Gaga is a force of personality, unlike Katy who was always more commercial and synthetic. Katy can't come back that easily from two failed albums because her fandom falls apart more and more. Gaga has us but Katy loses fans every day. She really needs that second album with at least one hit bigger that CCTR. Her momentum runs out and her manager knows that very well, which is why that Zedd collab exists in the first place. Let's hope, now that pop music seems to resurge, that Katy releases something like Firework again to save her crumbling career.

She is far from over but we should not overestimate her. She should move more in a Maroon 5 direction if she wants more hits or she can retire mostly and put out a project every 4-5 years for her fans. She has to decide now what's more important for her: music or the bling :hor:

Spoiler

tiny bits of shade sprinkled throughout the text :laughga:

Well I have to disagree with this. I think its all about having the right song and sound. I dont think her success is thanks to her "fans". She just needs a great song that radio will play, and Im sure she will get it soon.

Lets wish her good luck :ally:
