But this is not true :saladga:

Bodak Yellow & I Like It  are bigger than any Nicki Minaj lead song on the Hot 100 chart. And if we add Girls Like You to the mix, Nicki stands no chance with her features  :giggle:

Expect for the fact that Starships and Superbass were massive WW

You do know there are other countries besides the US? Starships is bigger than Cardi's career on a global scale.

Rap is most popular in the US and we were talking about rap artists.

Starships & SuperBass are also pop songs released during the time pop music was at its peak. Right now pop music is dead and rap is dominating so of course Cardi's rap singles aren't as big as Nicki's pop singles outside the US.

Using the "global" argument is useless when it comes to rap artists. They don't even care about the world outside the US :coffee:

Umm... Have you seen Cardi's insta? Every other post is about her saying she's not local and coming in with "facts".

Rap isn't a local genre. It's at its peak right now. Everywhere. Just like pop was when Starships was released. However, many US rappers are very local. :giggle:

Also, you're basically admitting that Cardi is not as big as Nicki unless we're only counting the US.

Fun Fact: Super Bass is counted on these two charts which means it's a rap song. All these "Super Bass is pop" comments are made invalid by BILLBOARD.

Since you obviously think Nicki IS a solo artist, shall we compare their solo singles?

Now to the actual problem. Where did I mention Nicki even once? You dragged her into this discourse, not me. But if you want to talk about Nicki v Cardi again then let me begin.

Nicki Minaj can actually rap and didn't have to steal her flow from a subpar rapper and rapist. She's actually talented and if  Cardi wants you to think that she's rapping she's just talking louder. She isn't changing her flow or anything. She's mediocre at best at the thing she chose as her career. When I say solo artists I also mean content. Cardi has mostly one kind of verse (I'm rich and therefore better than you b!tch) while Nicki actually has some other bars. Cardi is limited, Nicki not so much. This is where they differ.

I guess Starships is a rap song too. Queen of rap won in the end. :applause:

1

But that's exactly the funny thing :ladyhaha:

Cardi has good songs, I won't deny that. I just wished she could just challenge herself more but instead, she does the same thing all over again and it's boring.  I want to like her but she herself prevents me from it.

Now before we spiral back into a discussion that spans another 30 pages, could we please just stop here?
