Urgh ASIB gave her so many firsts.

1. First person to win an Oscar, Grammy, BAFTA and GG in the same year.
2. First music artist nominated for film, tv and music categories at the GGs.
3. First person to be nominated for a leading acting role and music at the Oscars.
4. First woman to win Best Film Music at the BAFTAs.

I think we should all wait for at least 2 months to label a song a flop. Reminder that our "smash hit" Million Reasons only stayed 1 week in the top 10 :selena:

Our standars were too low for the Joanne era though. At least it sold more than 1M pure

Million Reasons was selling but did not have radio and playlist support. The potential was clearly there. Taylor pulled all the stops for ME!. Rather different scenarios.

You can't really compare. Million Reasons had promo spot on TV, but it had no Spotify support or radio support. Taylor had a radio deal, it was #1 on TTH, she pulled out every trick in the book to get more sales. If the GP isn't here for the song, it will show, and it's showing that Me! isn't clicking with the GP. MR, on the other hand, was very well recieved by the GP and it had the potential to be a hit, as we saw after the Super Bowl performance.

I think the downfall of ME! honestly is the gap between the aggressive promo and the reception of the song (critically and commercially). It’s a huge gap. Hopefully Tay delivers with the 2nd single.

Does it matter? Damage is done

Looking at this whole Taylor situation, I really think that if gaga needs her time to write the perfect song and album then she should take her time, the gp is on her side more than ever and they are here to stay. Miss taylor had a lot of hype and the gp watching but she delivered a song that just didnt click and I truly hope gaga doesnt waste her oportunity with a quick lil song that is polarizing, she needs to deliver quality this time, so if shee needs time- give the good sis all the time she needs, the gp aint going anywhere.

What I appreciate of Gaga is that she isn’t hurrying but she’s taking her time. Everyone at her place would have already released something new considering the huge hype post-ASIB. Taylor herself rushed to release a new song to control the damage caused by reputation when her gaps between eras were usually longer in the past.

I just hope that for LG6 everything will be planned and executed well, regardless of the music itself and when it’s released.
