shame 25,360
I've always wondered this. Gaga seems to speak in a very unique nasally way that deviates from the standard American way of speaking. At times, she even sounds like she's speaking in a posh British accent, especially around 2008-2009, and 2010 (Jonathan Ross Interview). Am I the only one who thinks this? And what kind of accent does Gaga speak with? I'm so curious to know... angels forever, forever angels
jakob 6,033
she spoke with an accent at the beginning of her career idk how about now lol
Glamourpuss 29,062
She does it alot on stage, like when she's talking to the crowd between songs. She has a way of prounonouncing her T's that makes her sound posh. I also noticed it alot here. Check out 1:48... Lmao at the awkward last few seconds at the end of the video. misunderstood 8,736
Her accent in 2012 always made me scream "I'd rather be poor and happy, than rich and alone"

I should revise the thread title. I'm dying to know what kind of accent though. It almost sounds British to my ears but she doesn't have any connections to Britain. Her accent has an Old Hollywood star quality to it imo. It changes so much and messes with me lol angels forever, forever angels
Nemo 3,993
Perhaps the "Convent of the Sacred Heart" accent.
migamiga 12,073
early tf days she sounded like a california valley girl (and still does on a lot of occasions). Then she has the faux british accent that came and went during tfm, btw, and ap . Now it's just kind of a "standard american" accent if you will. monsieurRed 299
I remember she said once in an interview that she used to speak in an accent once because she used to get really nervous the media was trying to sabotage her. Not sure which one it was. If you watch her super early Gagavisions she never talked like that until Poker Face blew up. I don't think it's posh. It sounds more like a baby voice to me. 🧚♀️

Diamond heart99 5,262
Her accent I believe is often referred to as “bad b!tch” Who can tell, it changes wherever she is. When she won the Golden Globe for AHS she sounded straight burrough. Which we know she’s not.
