This. This. This. I really wish people would stop and think critically about these things before having knee-jerk reactions. Unless you have a major blockbuster of an album like Adele, album sales don't actually generate all that much revenue these days. Touring is where the money is made. If Interscope dropped that much money just to promote ARTPOP, they'd have to sell a lot of damn albums -- A LOT -- before they saw any profit.
