This is so messy. I understand what she's saying though. You can judge what others do but you won't understand the concept of their work unless you're in their shoes. This is why people's opinions shouldn't be valuable to you when they criticize your work. This is probably why she probably likes to shut out criticism even if it is constructive sometimes which isn't good all the time. Love you gags

All of these LM.com posts she has made as of late are so passive. Get over it. Stop bringing drama from 2013 into the new year, Gaga. Jesus Christ, if you're the one person that taught me how to think positively in every situation and how I can turn bad situations into good ones, you can take your own advise and do the same.

Exactly... It's really below my expectations. The app is just a boring GIF generator with a cool intro and the album is a set of songs which lack coherence and most of them sound uninspired and generic.

I don't agree with her at all. Criticism is needed in order to grow. It's hard to see your own mistakes but when somebody points them, it may feel unpleasant but you at least have an opportunity to fix them or not repeat them in the future. What I'm talking about is educated, constructive criticism and not some amateurish reviews full of viciousness.

Well, if you read some of the reviews for ARTPOP they were just as you described,  amateurish reviews full of viciousness.

She just needs to stop worrying about critics and just do her thing.

She really needs to get over all this ****. You wanna do something? Prove them wrong. You want the world to understand ARTPOP? Start doing things so we can understand what's in your mind. Everyone is allowed to critice anything, I may nlt be a musician but I know what songs I like and what songs I don't like. I may not be a cheff, but same goes with the food. I still remember that video... stop the drama, start the music. I'm waiting.

Not all of the reviews were like that though and some of them made valid points that many fans agreed with. Obviously it's not possible to satisfy everyone though.

I think this is what she's getting at, or what she's trying to.

I personally think she's trying to make a point, but really got it out wrong. I may be wrong, but I read this as a reiteration of the "you are the artist of your own life" statement. But nobody is reading it like that, so idk.

I see what you're saying, and there are parts I agree with, others I disagree with. I do agree that nobody can tell an artist what to do -- if an artist just does whatever the critics tell her to do, then she has no integrity. But on the other hand, to be an artist, you also have to be able to take people's critiques and use them to make your work better. In my opinion, it's a skill that's just as useful as creating the art in the first place. Taking criticism and molding it in such a way that your work is changed but is still a representation of who you are, rather than a representation of the person who critiqued it, is an incredibly creative and incredibly difficult act. An artist has to be able to learn this skill, or else the work will suffer. I like to imagine it as if the artist is inside the canvas, in an entirely different world that's like stepping into the frame, and creating the work from that perspective. Seeing things from a perspective that no one else can see from. But criticism is a person standing in front of the canvas and holding up a mirror. It's a very different and very necessary perspective...how else would the artist be able to know what the canvas looks like unless they see it through the mirror? Otherwise, they're creating blindly. But of course, every mirror is unique, right? The reflection in each is a little different. The mirror is a general guideline, a bit subjective, not 100% accurate, but still completely helpful and necessary. It's the same with people's criticisms.

She needs to step away from the internet and LM.com especially and prove the critics wrong. Promote & Slay already!

I really wish she would stop with the constant post about the critics because majority of the time she jumbles up her own words and it turns into something else. :coffee:

I think she's mostly upset that the album isn't constantly being praised as a masterpiece of art like she thinks it is.

ARTPOP is good album but she needs to realize that everyone isn't going to have the same opinions or expectations and that's okay. Just stop forcing everyone to try to have an ARTPOP high and enjoy your masterpiece without the negativity.

I also think she should stop hyping up things but she won't so whatever. :flop:

Yeah, I feel like this isn't an attack on criticism overall, but instead on the incessant and unwarranted criticism she got instead.

3 points in and ready for more

i just miss her "I don't give a f*ck" attitude.
What happened to "Free b---h"?

She was so strong willed and ever since BTW she has gotten soft. It is nice to see her open up and show her vulnerability, but that doesn't mean she has to be soft about everything...

Gaga, you have strength. Now is the time to show it and tell the haters to **** off.

If the critics like it, that's great. If not, then oh well and we'll get them next time.

At the end of the day it's just the opinion of another average person. The only difference is that they have a place to write their opinion where many people see it. But it shouldn't affect the opinions of others and it certainly does not affect the quality of the music. Do you like it? Do the fans like it? <----- that's all that matters.
