Disregard 50
So you keep saying, but you're not explaining why beyond a bunch of assumptions. You want her to deal with the criticism. This is how she's dealing with it. You said her message is that the music is what matters. This is how she gets us to think about and discuss that message. What's the problem? I don't get what you don't get. How does her message that the music is above all else jibe with her intense focus on anyone who has a differing opinion on her music? Bye 3,947
Critics will always critique, what she should really be advocating is for people to stop caring so much about what they have to say because as Gaga correctly says the critics don't know damn anything about what they're criticising. No Angel 128
All I really see is that suddenly she's not the golden child anymore and her insecurities have manifested themselves into this battle between her innate inferiority complex and her idea that she is above criticism. If not, then when she was praised maybe she could have had more of an attitude like "Why does this matter? Do you love my work because these faceless people praised it, or do you love it because you simply do?" I honestly get what you are saying with this and I agree. Her attitude as of late has become so bizarre. She is giving me this newfound persona where she is above the criticism, even if it's coming from a good place. It's a "my way or the highway" sort of situation. It's great that she is sticking to her guns, but if she doesn't allow herself to be more open to other people's ideas... then she will fall even harder. I have always felt that Troy left her because she was becoming difficult or she fired him because he stood his ground in a very defensive (but rightful) way. Her past posts (including that tweet to DJWS) also made me feel a little annoyed because she shaded Troy up and down, yet he was one of the people that helped her get to where she is from the start... it wasn't only Gaga who got her to Pop stardom. I just refuse to understand why she's bringing in bad vibes from 2013 into a brand new year. This "ARTPOP is now beginning" nonsense proves to me that she really isn't over the past and it's still haunting her. She's actually whining now. It's all talk and no action. If she wants so badly to get into a better place, prove it and do what you do best? At this point, it's not up to fans to help her. It's up to Gaga to help Gaga. You wrote it in a more proper way, though. Lol Edited January 12, 2014 by SXXXDREAMS
gagaluna 0
Did she actually write this herself - or was she high? Usually she's pretty articulate - but here she made like no sense. And when she kept writing "critic" (as the verb) - it seemed she meant "critique". Sometimes I wish Gaga wouldn't try so hard to sound like an overly-opinionated brainiac because she contradicts herself a LOT!!!
Kermit the frog 1,895
I literally can't tell what this is supposed to even say, beyond the first few lines it just seems to be random phrases stuck together. I rly hope she was awfuly drunk while typing that.

I keep saying, her focus is not on whining about what the critics are saying about her. It's about getting us to question and discuss the role they have in how we evaluate and experience art. Which is exactly why feeling betrayed by him would understandably hurt so much. Edited January 12, 2014 by Jeff Kunst

Lets Party 0
I'm sorry i love you gaga but this type of thinking is going to end up ruining you. She needs to just stop and take a step back
No Angel 128
Which is exactly why feeling betrayed by him would understandably hurt so much. That's what I'm saying. Gaga may feel betrayed by Troy, but what exactly went down? He hasn't said a word about the situation. There's three sides to a story. Gaga's, Troy's, and the truth. We'll probably never know what went down with them. I'm not siding with her on this one, nor am I siding with Troy. But these past posts she's made have concerned me, this one in particular. It kind of makes me believe she couldn't take Troy's constructive criticism, and that ultimately broke them apart. This may not be the truth, but a possible theory to their breakup. Her only way of "dealing" with her criticism seems to be obsessing over it instead of to simply "keep on keeping on." You keep talking about assumptions but your own assumptions that she's just very lax about it and trying to create discussion is just as much of an assumption. I don't see an effort to create a discussion, I see an effort to paint herself as a misunderstood outcast, which is what this fanbase LOVES, because most of them see themselves the same way. It keeps people committed, which is what she needs. Which brings up another point. "It doesn't matter what people think about you, you're great! You were born this way!" On the other hand, if you create something and someone has a different opinion, be sure to worry about what other people think.
