Morphine Prince 109,896 Posted March 13, 2019 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Two teenagers have opened fire at a school in south-eastern Brazil, killing at least five students and one employee, police say. The shooting happened at about 09:30 local time (12:30 GMT) when the students were in a break at the state school in Suzano, near São Paulo. Several other people have been wounded. The two gunmen killed themselves after the attack, police say. While gun crime is common in Brazil, shootings of this nature are not. The school has primary and secondary students, and the identities of the victims and the alleged attackers have not yet been released. It is not clear the motive of the shooting, police say. Humanity by definition means compassionate, sympathetic, and a generous disposition so in that context no, humanity isn't terrible. Humans historically have been capable of terrible behavior. Sadly, that hasn't changed. Hence my comment about the threat of that behavior to mankind. And no, that didn't just occur to me. Sorry you felt the need to point out what you perceived as a short-coming in my awareness of the longtime lack of humanity in our species. I choose to not involve myself emotionally in news I read that doesn't concern my life path; that I deem is only to cause more fear and paranoia, nothing wrong with that. I mean I feel sad about it but my whole day isn’t ruined to the point of being physically tortured by it. I believe the main thing is having empathy towards these people which can induce some sadness in people. Thats what I think the initial poster was implying.
