Nah, it's capitalism.

I don't agree fully. Capitalism to a reasonable extent is what drives entrepreneurship, investment, growth/advancement, incentive for hard work etc

Capitalism does often screw over the most disadvantaged tho and that's where some social programs and a progressive tax system that taxes wealthy a little more (within reason) can help to have some redistribution

I mean, I think its pretty apparent that it has some inherent problems that we can't realistically fix just by making less greedy people rich.. but that's also because Capitalism can fester greed in the first place and pretty much necessitates oppression, so I think its an unjust system.

I don't expect it to die realistically at least in America, but it certainly needs to be jump started in at least a healthier way ( ala Warren and Sander's ideas currently) for it to be sustainable in a way that actually benefits the people.

Workers are the ones working hard and they're toiling in debt while those hoarding capital sit in mansions, syphoning off of their employee's expended labor and resources/work mined from developing nations. We're lagging behind nearly every industrialized nation in the world that has embraced mitigated socialism. Social programs are great, but they won't solve the foundational problem with an economic system that necessitates the personal accumulation of extreme wealth at the expense of your fellow man.

Your wedding video from last week was cute, by the way.

Don't believe it. Capitalism is a philosophy based on a perceived value of competition. Yet every time they do scientific studies on people testing if the element of competition aids their performance the results are opposite from expectation: people perform worse if they know they are in a competition format.

People believe in capitalism because we have been socially trained to regard communism as a folly. This is a purely political bias that has no scientific foundation. Capitalism has very little benefits and a huge amount of downsides that have real and dangerous effects on the whole world. Rationally speaking it's absurd to keep pretending capitalism is a model worth fighting for.

Just my take on it. Don't get me wrong, I like capitalism for its positive effects on my life (me living in undeserved luxury compared to other parts of the world, I mean) but the negative effects on all of us are always shoved under the mat. That's wrong.

Greed is a human trait found in all economic systems....

Kings, princes, premiers, hi council all live well beyond their common bretheren....

It's the freedom to become rich that seems to be the problem for some socialist dictatorships....the lack of being able to <control> ....

Because it's not a fully fair system. I did not say that harder work = more pay

I said incentive. That's a totally different point. If ppl don't need to work long hours to pay bills or do a hard job they wouldn't :rip: but we need that. People also wouldn't bother taking higher education like university or college if those careers didn't come with higher pay

Also the big bosses who sit on the top they may not have to work as hard once they get there but let's be honest. To climb up the ladder or start your own business involves A LOT of hard work and risk taking (unless your lucky enough to inherit it or something) hence why most ppl don't do it

Your right that hard work is not rewarded proportionally in society to everyone hence why I'm in favour of some redistribution and higher taxes on the rich to a reasonable degree

But it's a system of competition that forces everyone to up their game

Tbh advancement didn't even happen fast until the US led an industrial revolution. And guess what the US had? Capitalism and freedom to an extent other nations did not have. I don't think we'd have advanced scientifically and economically as much as we have without Capitalism

Don't forget. 300 years ago a middle class hardly existed. It was a few rich priveledged people with the majority of people being poor. We complain about people being screwed over by the rich in this modern capitalist world but it used to be sooooo much worse

I still think capitalism is the best system to encourage entrepreneurship and risk taking, for ppl to compete to be their best etc

I don't like it taken to extremes tho because it does have the downsides of making it very hard for the most disadvantaged to get by as I said tho that's why I'm not advocating for extreme Capitalism. I still think some degree of wealth distribution and social programs are warranted

I think a mostly capitalist society with a sprinkle of socialist for a little redistribution is what's ideal

That's my opinion tho

Infinity Wave

I think the problem is to think that everyone deserves the same things.

What we should have are opportunities, bit giving everyone the same things without them earning them is pure folly.

What capitalism rewards is enterpreneurship, risk taking, investments and competition. Without those things, if we give everyone the same things, why should one work like 10 hours a day, taking the risk whatever it is (saving lives as a doctor, taking not operative but strategic decision as a manager) while one could just work a a salesman (no shade there, obviously) and make the same money and have the same perspective?

Most of the workers do not take the risk others do take, and taking risk is rewarded. They don't hava the knowledges or capability of doing that, and that's a shame but who does have those must be rewarded

Colourful

Why is Soccer .. or many other "competitive"  sports so popular in Socialist contries then?

Why don't the players simply run around the field and kick the ball any ole' place ????

Winners make more money get more laid and have a better life ….no?
