Le Figaro, one of the most respected journals here in France published an exclusive article about what really happenned with the Nicki Minaj concert at Bordeaux

the whole article is in French but :

"The public, 5,500 people on a gauge of 11,000 (it was necessary to hide the unsold seats by wide black curtains) does not suspect anything. But between the entourage of Nicki Minaj and the Arkéa Arena officials, nothing is going right. Despicable and unpleasant, the Americans refuse to open the door of the backstage room where the star is, and no longer speak to the French."

"the design of lights on certain pieces requires a hundred times more electricity than the European laws allow: 3 amps instead of 30 milliamps. The American entourage has understood and instead of solving the problem, trying to get through each room. In Bordeaux, the problem was reported late Saturday morning by French technicians Arkea Arena. As soon as informed, Jérôme Langlet, the director of Lagardère Entertainment, who is responsible for operating the room, asked the Americans to comply with French legislation. One solution was to remove the special effects that were causing problems on some songs. Refusal of Americans. Jérôme Langlet, who knew the horror of the Bataclan which Lagardère was co-owner at the time of the attacks, does not yield: "There was a chance in a thousand for there to be a short circuit and in this case, people die . I absolutely refuse to take this type of risk. We must respect our laws. "

there was a small chance of a court circuit and people to die, but madame Nicki Minaj refused and wanted her show to go... this is a whole new level of unprofessionalisme.

Holy ****.

This is a whole new level of unprofessionalism, to put your fans at risk like that? Disgusting.

This is far worse than ARTPOP Gaga, for those who were comparing.

edit: just to clarify, I was alluding to the fact that some people made some (fair) points about Gaga's unprofessionalism during the ARTPOP era, but that this is a level of unprofessionalism far worse than that.

This is horrible.

But people who were dragging her for not doing the show anyway? :vegas: Y'all were sitting here not knowing anything about the situation. Doing it anyway was gonna risk lives. Hate on her for insisting on her special effects and being unaccommodating, not for doing a show when it's dangerous. :wtfga:

actually she wanted to do the show, the article says that she diddnt want to cancel it to pressure the arena's team to give her the authorization to perform even after they warned her team of the risk and probably blame it on them if there was any problem (not mentionned in the article but its just what i think)

Her team didn't want to fix the problem and conform with european laws, so the french producer canceled the show for security reasons.

Then how did she have a show in Paris literally days before this one? :ohwell:

she arrived 2 hours late, maybe she pressured them enough to allow her that.

Yeah, no. Not buying this. This just reeks of unprofessionalism. Nicki and her team should be ashamed.

Just when you thought cancelling a show because of the low attendance was bad, now she's risking her fans lives... How can this case get even more unprofessional? :wtfga:
