Ethiopian Airlines: 'No survivors' on crashed Boeing 737 Max-8

An Ethiopian Airlines jet has crashed shortly after take-off from Addis Ababa, killing all on board.

The airline said 149 passengers and eight crew members were on flight ET302 from the Ethiopian capital to Nairobi in Kenya.

It said 32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians, eight Americans and seven British nationals were among the passengers.

The crash happened at 08:44 local time, six minutes after the months-old Boeing 737 Max-8 took off.

Another plane of the same model was involved in a crash less than five months ago, when a Lion Air flight crashed into the sea near Indonesia with nearly 190 people on board.

I work for an Airline here in Canada who's actually had an accident ourselves, and this is honestly still an airlines biggest fear. I was at work when we got the breaking news email sent us, such a sad day

This is the biggest fear I have  I’m always too frightened for every flight. It’s like a panic attack that lasts for hours

Last year the same aircraft went down and killed everyone, forget what country. 

Boeing needs to launch an investigation or start recalling. 

These are NEW planes, less than 2 years old.

Crashing in an airplane or car is one of my biggest fears, along with heights & dying period lol but something about flying & not being in control of anything scares the f*ck out of me. Flying is still the safest way to travel though it doesn’t do anything to help the anxiety & fear.

It was the Lion Air flight from Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta to Depati Amir Airport in Pangkal Pinang. I know Air Canada currently has 2 of those Aircrafts and bought 29 more recently.... I do hope Boeing launches an investigation into these air crafts.

yeah it's the lack of control that makes it worse, nothing you can do but wait till it crashes. I also hate the feeling on your feet walking on the floor in the plane but knowing theres miles of nothing below

I have to admit I don’t have a phobia of flying but every time I’ve been on an airplane as it’s taking off I’ve always thought “What if the engines failed right now?” as I’ve looked out the window.

Well I’m regards to the engines failing I wouldn’t be too scared about that. A plane can take off & fly with one engine perfectly fine & if both engines went the plane can glide & the pilot should be able to land. What you should be afraid of is a bird flying into the engine & the engine then exploding... or randomly seeing a person on the wing lmfao (movie reference)

I’m normally okay with flying but as I’ve gotten older and seen these reports about plane crashes, especially seeing how recent their last one was, it makes me anxious to go and see my dad in Bulgaria next month, I’m really quite nervous about it and will probably over think it, which is very unlike me
