I know Kim has no place saying that stuff considering how problematic she is. But she didn't lie. There's literally nothing weird or extraordinary about Ava and her song about being a misfit does come across as disingenuous.

Unlike Gaga, she hasn’t had the time in the spot life for us to know if she went through it or experienced this yet, so why assume life was always easy for her?

Let’s not forget that it took a minute for Gaga to light up and open about her viewpoints and experiences... You do not have to like Ava to respect her and wish her well. #WWLGD

We're talking about a song that was written by seven songwriters :awkney: Like, why do we have to pretend she's this singer-songwriter who accidentally grabbed the spotlight with a heartwrenching song about not fitting into society?

We're talking about a debuting pop star signed to a major label who is trying to smash and shape a devoted fanbase. Positioning and presenting herself as the quirky, weird chick who nevertheless delivers glimmering, easy-on-the-ear pop hits is the golden marketing combo of today and it just comes across as shallow even if she was bullied to death when she was young.

Singing about how a group of people looking at you weird feels like "cheap perfume" is not exactly something worth applauding :madge: If she actually did want to communicate traumatizing experiences of feeling different then she failed hilariously anyway and still doesn't deserve praise.

I'm not assuming that. But like I said the song does feel insincere, at least to me. I mean, have you looked at the lyrics? They're so unspecific and cliché. Nothing about it suggests that she actually went through something. Instead it feels like she and her label are pushing a calculated image. That's just how I see it.

I'm not really a fan of either of these women, both for their own reasons.

But In Ava's defense we don't know what her life has been like for all we know she was a misfit. Kim was a bit immature in calling out someone she doesn't know. Yes the song was written by 7 other people but maybe it was about her personal experiences.

Unnecessary and rude comment from Kim. I am also shocked at the seeping misogyny from some members here as well. Embarrassing all around. Stop attacking women because of their qualities (beauty, skin color and the like).

Can yall stop letting mediocrity pass? One blonde bitch who makes cute pop songs comes in the scene and yall jumping on her **** like shes a prodigy and "helping someone make it big cause shes underrated" or some **** . Wheres this energy for other artists? Like, actual ones that make good music?

And who are you to decide for us what good music is and who I help to make it big

Sit down Moeibus

Glad I’m not the only one not blind enough to see that exactly for what it is.

Also, hypocrisy much gagadailers? I’ve seen ESSAYS about artists where people say they literally hate them as if they knew them in real life or something, with worse name calling and mean sayings that goes further than what Kim said and others agreeing cause “it’s just an opinion”.

kim is no saint but she has a point imo. i wish ava well but i felt irritated by the obvious attempt to appeal to ‚misfits‘ without giving the listener anything of real substance. it just felt calculated, not necessarily on her part, but you just feel the label’s decision written all over it. she’s talented so her label should take their time to find out who she really is instead of crafting her to be a  gaga 2.0. it‘s not 10 years ago where you can say c‘mon plastic bags you‘re a firework!
