So this morning I decided to take a step back and get over my personal bias that I had against a lot of latin music and instead of comparing it to other stuff to just take it for what it is and listened to Bad Bunny's album and I quite enjoyed it, I wanted to get down but I was on a train so :awkney:

ANYWAY recommend me some albums that you think are worth checking out. I wanna broaden my horizon.

Would you consider Brazilian music part of Latin?

Haha

well, tbh the only national music i listen to are the ones that focus more on storytelling, so i think there's not much of a sonic appeal to them, but i'd tell you to try Maria Gadú, she's kinda like Brazil's Lorde, her album Guellā is full of artsy sounds and stuff

Also the band Anavittoria, and the singer Clarice Falcão

all 3 of these are storytellers

For melodic music: Iza, Silva, Jão, Tiê  maybe Anitta? i'm not really into her music

well nvm i'll find some links for you and reply back ♡

well if you want pop, try listening to Shakira (her early work is very creative and artistic)
