#9. In My Feelings

8-In-My-Feelings.png

Overall Score: 7.62

Highest Score: 11 - @corvus albus

Lowest Score: 1 - @PlastiscGuy

@Blue Madonna's comments:

Lana nailed ha badassery on this album. Cherry and this?? Crazily, I think this is one of the weakest songs on the album, and I love it :tony: The trippy, warped beat works perfectly with her just slightly muffled vocals and these savage lyrics. She’s laughing as she’s taking no prisoners. Try her, G-Eazy!

Comments Part I:

Spoiler

@HausOfHarlow: One of my favorites - I love the rawness and realness of the lyrics. The production throughout is flawless!

@Punktious: Eh

@Lonely Lolita:  It’s so funny!

@Rumours1977: Her voice sounds great in this track. Yep, I definitely like her higher register better… This track confirms it.

@ARTPOP2:  I always confuse it with white mustang, it's cute but meh

@AJK273:  Another case of trap done right for Lana. If you are going to do it go savage like there is no other way. The song is that I am a bad bitch song that you need when a boy is treating you wrong. Just an overall good Bad Bitch Energy.

@hausofcy: Great song but kinda underwhelming compared to the rest of the album. Lyrically it’s very pleasing tho

Comments Part II:

Spoiler

@Oriane:  I like the dark atmosphere but the chorus is once again repetitive.

@FfFfFfFF: This is the song where the trap beat sounds the most fitting.

@corvus albusPut that whiny bitch down MAA KWEEEN! :applause:

@hellothing:  In the same vein as Cherry, this song bites! Classic Lana being in a relationship where the man isn’t treating her right. And did she end up killing people in the end? It’s just not a good thing that I feel like replaying Groupie Love when In My Feelings just starts. No offence, I just love Groupie Love so damn much XD

@halcyonpop: This was an early favorite, though it's moved down my rankings a bit. To me, it's the least "Lana-sounding" song on the album.

@brucee: even though I love it, i think it's quite generic Lana song

#8. Lust For Life

2-Lust-For-Life.jpg

Overall Score: 7.75

Highest Score: 11 - @KinneyUnderYou

Lowest Score: 1 - @NNES

@Blue Madonna's comments:

Love was the song that planted the seed for my love of Lana, and this song confirmed it. From the moment of its release, I was in love. The moody, glamorous, and oh-so-sexy feel of this song always takes me away to another plane. Abel and Lana’s voices were made for each other, the dreaminess of their voices complimenting one another perfectly. And I do think the male-female element really enhances it; in a song written about love for the opposite sex, the contrast of a male voice to a female completes the sexiness. Brilliant production. Fun fact: while this song is not my favourite off LFL it is my most listened to song of all time :vegas: it has aged like WINE and I’ve never got tired of it.

Comments Part I:

Spoiler

@Punktious: I like it but something always manages me to lose interest. Perfect title track though

@Lonely Lolita: Good R&B song

@Rumours1977: This song started off sounding quite interesting. However, I think the track could have been cut to about 3 minutes, and it would have been much better (it kept dragging on imo). Moreover, the chorus wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be. The Weeknd did an okay job on the feature, though.

@ARTPOP2: mediocre coming from Lana, the lyrics are just meh, the video is cute and it's hella catchy

@Amphetamine: would be higher if not for the Weeknd's annoying ass vocals

@AJK273: This was the Abel/Lana collab we needed, a full length bit of beauty that just shows off how cute a relationship these two have. Not much more to say about this track as it is just a great little couples track. And THAT CHORUS WITH THE BACK AND FORTH UGH ABEL TAKE ME. I also think this song like love should have been towards the end of the 2nd half/beginning of the 3rd.

@hausofcy: One of my favourites on the album since i stan both of them and they delivered. Their voices blend so well together and the video just makes the song better

@Oriane:  I like the « take off take off » part but I’m not really convinced by this duet. I think her hip-hop style vocals are more suited to other songs.

Comments Part II:

Spoiler

@FfFfFfFF: Lana meets mainstream electro-pop and it sounds good. I love listening to the instrumental.

@corvus albus: The Weeknd killed any momentum the song had and i'm angry about it :crossed:

@Bayonetta: Aged like milk under the sun somewhere in the middle east during summer.

@hellothing: A certified bop… and a HALF! Jesus, this song slays lives. Lana at her finest. And that Weeknd feature? Oooh chile. Shame I don’t really see the connection of the song to the overall theme of love and wokeness of the album. Is it a metaphor for fame, is it a love song, or is it a political song full of anti-God and anti-destiny messages? Your guess is as good as mine. One thing’s for sure, ‘take off take off all your clothes’ is a line I shamefully sing along out in public and I can’t help it.

@halcyonpop: This is a beautiful collab. I've always felt like the chorus hits such a high that almost goes unmatched on the album. I love the sense of dialogue between Lana and Abel and I feel like their understated vocals complement each other very well.

@brucee: the theme, the words.... the duet...

@NNES: Well, i hate this song... It's the worst Lana song.

@sethrb101I like this track, but something about it just doesn't fully connect for me
