A deep, rich instrumental paired with some great lyrics delivered by Lana and Rocky. And Lana’s flow was on point! The ad-libs on this song are much better than Summer Bummer, a much less frequent deep ‘yeah’. I love how the instrumental builds up just before kicking into the brilliant trappy beat, heavenly violins and those deep distorted ad-libs underneath. Unfortunately I do think that once again (like Summer Bummer) Rocky’s talents were slightly wasted, he can rap better than this, but in saying that it was still a very strong performance from him and his woozy acid-inspired style that he often uses fits perfectly on this song. Comments Part I: Spoiler @Trepadation: Fun fact Lana wrote this song about the secret relationship between @AJK273 & I @Punktious: The better A$AP collaboration @Lonely Lolita: a bop!!! @Rumours1977: I really enjoyed the chord progression of the track. Moreover, I thought the layered vocals (along with the VERY atmospheric environment) in the chorus really worked well. I think I’m also coming to the realization that I prefer Lana’s upper register vs. her lower register. I find this to be even stronger than the last A$AP Rocky Collab earlier in the album. @ARTPOP2: remove lil rocky @Amphetamine: would have been an 8 if A$AP's random verse wasn't included that ruins the flow of the whole song @AJK273: Throwaway song to me and just don't care for it. Keep in mind as well that I AM A HUGE LANA FAN but she deserved better. Its songs like this that show Rick didn't know what to do when Lana wanted to make songs for the GP. Rick shines in the less commercial songs but he really struggles to make some of the more commercial songs work at points. Im also one of those people where a feature needs to be good and make sense for it to be on a song and this one just made no sense whatsoever.
